I think our chances of landing the kid from Kansas City - Garrett Stutz has been greatly reduced now Kentucky has offered him and he's going on a visit this weekend. For a program like that, if they want this kid, it will be a slam dunk.

We have another big in mind though, I think we've been recruiting him under the radar because he's shown on the CN propsects so he's not a new big man name on the recruiting board, but the fact that his interest in ISU is high and he's visiting this weekend leads me to believe that we've been working on him for a while....

Justin Hamilton - he will be in town this weekend for an official visit....good size and has the description of a Mcdermott guy.....

Intriguing big man with a nice upside. Plays hard, willing to be physical. Good rebounder and defender. High major prospect.

We may end up with a big yet.....

It looks like we are lowering our ights a bit. We are competing with Weber State and Pepperdine - neither areknown to be basketball powerhouses.

I trust that GMac knows what he is doing.

You might want to check the scout top 100....Pepperdine has two 4 star recruits in the 08' class. We have zero.

Nice find. That sucks. Im sure whatever McD and crew decide will be a good choice.

You would be in total shock if you knew who was going to be on campus this weekend. Let's just say if you see a bunch of guys who look like basketball players and you don't recognize them. Start begging them to come play basketball for us. Try to get them to commit to you. That is all I will say.

oooooh.I like this game the old "I know something you don't know game". We never play THAT game here on CF.

'08 or '09 or beyond?

Don't know about Kentucky, but according to World Herald, he is in Lincoln this weekend for visit. Taking in the big game on his visit. Is that what you meant?

According to this free article, Justin Hamilton played mostly JV last basketball season (as junior) and has limited varsity experience. They say he is a late bloomer. Apparently he is very smart. This reminds me of Skogland.

I heard we were supposed to have like eight recruits in town this weekend.

Madness! Hopefully one of them will commit! We really need to bring the thunder during the game!

Would it be PJ Stinnett ?

I've seen the list and I guess I don't see why it would cause shock. Nice list but not earth shattering.

So how come Nebraska receives an official visit tomorrow at the big red game from Garrett Stutz, a 7-0 225 pound player from North Kansas City, MO in addition to Colton Iverson? Garrett use to be a ball handler as an off guard and recently grew six inches. Huh? Oh, yeah, he may make an unofficial to Ames and Kentucky. Did we waste our time on some other big men and let this one slip. He is a three star for the record.

Re: MBB recruiting info....More on Hamilton

A site listed as Intermountain Hoops Scouting Service lists Justin Hamilton as the 2nd highest prospect and provides the following stats on him:

Justin Hamilton: Height 6-10, Reach 8-11, Wing Span 7-0, Vertical Leap 23.4 Lone Peak HS, UT

Wow, dude can reach from one side of my kitchen to the other, but couldn't jump over my beagle:biglaugh:

I know that people can develop late, but it still bothers me that we are recruiting a kid that played JV basketball last year. I have to trust McD on this one.

I have read some nice things on line about Clinton Mann. I hope we could get a shot at Stutz because I would like to get a true "5" center.

Garrett will be up for the OU game. He is not close to making any decision let alone paring his list down. He has a full load with trips to Michigan, Kentucky, KU and us still ahead.
His Dad is one jam up good guy so the process will be a clean one.

Really

Royce white 5 star
Rodney WIlliams 4 star and 5 star depending on who you read.
Trent locket 4 star
Harrison Barnes 4 or 5 star

Have you ever seen that many recruits on campus with that much talent. I have never.
