So you ONLY expected him to be as good or better than the best three point shooter in Iowa State history?
Totally not lofty goals at all.
He was touted as being capable of such. And I don't care if my teams SG has 11 boards. It's NICE if he does, but to me there are other guys there for rebounding, Matt's role was SUPPOSED to be different. Note that I said SUPPOSED to be. Whatever he's becoming is fine, but it isn't what I, or really anyone probably, expected.
Ha so some of you rip Sullivan somehow and list all the things matt is better than him in, then turn around and say how unrealistic the comparisons are to the best 3 point shooter in school history, that they are too lofty. Which is it?
yes matt is a better defender and rebounder (I guess...if you're really worried about guard rebounds) and Jake the superior shooter. But that's what was expected of Jake (he sorta got thrust into being a scorer later on his career) but he was brought in to make open shots....same as matt. Matt just hasn't done it.

I'm pretty much expecting McKay to be the next Zaid Abdul-Aziz, Georges to be Fizer, Monte to surpass Tinsley, Naz to be the Mayor, and Nader to be a combo of Jeff Grayer, Jeff Hornacek, Barry Stevens, and the Roland Rocket.

The stupidity of the above posters is what we expect to find in Iowa City......to state we don't need those rebounds from our SG means you don't understand basketball or didn't watch the game....if Matt didn't grab those, CS had at least 8 of them as there were no other Cyclones around to grab them.....idiots...
I know a lot of ISU fans who were more excited for MT than for Monte. You can't tell me that Matt didn't have expectations of being something he hasn't lived up to yet.
Thomas was fine. Only issue tonight is not getting Stu N the ball at the end. Everyone responsible for him not getting up a shot needs to run stairs
Guards have to box out their guy, just like all the other players. Guards probably aren't going to routinely lead the team in rebounding, however.

Lol we have beens blasted for only being able to go 6 or 7 deep not because Thomas is one our first off the bench.. Anyone that thinks that Thomas is playing poorly right now doesn't know basketball.

No he's not playing poorly...but if the kid doesn't stink it up, a thread gets made every week on how "well" he played. I mean I know some of you want him to be really good....he's just not going to be. Stop asking people to tell you you're pretty.
Thomas grabbed garbage boards and points tonight. I am not counting him out, but it was extremely ugly when he was trying to force it against Chicago states backups.
