Matt Perrault

You people are goofy. A year ago Marty was terrible and no one could stand him. Matt was a god, especially after he first came on the local airwaves and ripped on Iowa fans. Now he's horrible all of a sudden after a guest loses his composure on the show, and everyone is back on Marty's bandwagon. You people won't be happy until they take all of the local sports shows off the air.

I don't listen to either unless CW is on the show. I listened to Matt and Miller one day. The day of the Pollard email situation. After that I haven't listened unless it was a podcast that has been talked about here. From what I can tell, John didn't lose his composure, he said what should have been said a long time ago.

i really enjoyed that marty interview, asked tough questions and jp answered them. Especially in regards to the wes j situation, craig, and how he might of set a double standard.

Perrault just has no polish, no style. He interrupts people, gets too excited in arguments. Juvenile is the word.
I listen to Marty now.

I've never listened to this guy's show, and I'll be sure not to tune in when I'm in town in June. Matt, whoever you are, you are a schmuck. It just goes to show any db who is willing to show their stupidity to the world like a badge of honor can find a job in the media. Does Iowa/Nebraska have anybody on the radio worth listening to?

A response to what? I don't know what you are talking about?

Chris was on today. As was Gary Parrish. As was Ken and David Kaplan. All talking about the hire...as was the new coach's interview from earlier. So you are mad that for 6 minutes we talked to Doug about a story that involved UNI fans? Come on. Now you are just going overboard. Ken and I had Doug on multiple times this year.

You have had no one from ISU on your show discuss the week's biggest story, yet you bring on the Creighton coach and his son. Every other show was able to Fred or Jamie and you got no one. Chris is great but isn't part of the actual story. All you do is bring on your buddy to make fun of the hire some more and make completely inaccurate comparisons about a man he has no clue about.

Thanks for making KXNO bluejay radio.:jimlad:

If you guys don't care for Matt then don't listen. All of this chirping is hilarious.
No kidding I have never listened to the guy(except for the clip on this site) but I might start just because of this thread. This is working out well for the radio station and him.

Please show me the thread where Matt was labeled a god or anything like it. Marty is still a DB IMO.

Gary Parrish compared it to McCain picking Palin

Who the hell is Gary Parrish? Never heard of him until about three days ago. I don't expect a clueless outsider like Parrish to understand how special the Hoiberg hire is. Just like I don't expect a clueless outsider like you to understand.

Walters was out of line. He knew it.

Walters was NOT out of line. He was much more gentle than he could have (SHOULD have) been. Don't confuse John's good nature and professional courtesy for anything more than that.

Matt just better worry about Creighton right now, that crash you just heard is Creighton basketball falling flat on its face. They have inherited a real good guy for their program.

Perrualt is a nobody. He's better off going back to the east coast. He was booted out of Omaha for a reason, just like he'll be booted out of here eventually.

We should host an educational forum for local sports talk guys. Call it "PR for Perrault" or something generic like that.

Handy tips like:

1 - The mic is always open. Your mouth doesn't have to be.

2 - People speaking with you on the show are your guests. Your listeners are your victims. Don't mix the two groups up in your head.

3 - When news is breaking, don't opine. For example, "This just in - Floods destroy Cedar Rapids, ha ha that sucks," is unlikely to have the humorous effect you intend.

4 - Declaring yourself to "not be a journalist" doesn't make it so. If you broadcast news and information and occasionally have new information that no one else has, and speak about it using the mass media, you have also taken on the duties of a journalist.

I know this is graduate degree-level coursework, and is unlikely to be covered even at the most prestigious undergraduate Sports Talk Radio programs in the country, but I think, with a little help from the listeners, talk radio in central Iowa can, and will improve.

I can listen to Miller and Deace, not a big fan, but it is tolerable...the rest of sports talk in DM is just horrible...in my opinion...except for when Chris is on talking Cyclones of course !!!

That's a pretty good list

Miller and Deace is good. Murph and Andy would be good if Keith wasn't so worried about offending people. And then Matt and Miller, well.............
