I think he gets eager for big news to come down, since he has no history or interest in any programs in the midwest, I think that eagerness to talk something big makes him sound happy. In some ways he is happy to have something to talk about, however I don't think the happiness comes from wanting the downfall of a school or program.
I would agree that he was accurate in the questioning of the Fred hire. The means and manner is/are highly questionable. If guys like Jon Walters and Rob Howe want softball questions tossed their way, that's what Larry Cotlar is for. Perrault was perfectly in the right to question the Hoiberg hire and was perfectly right yesterday.

Considering that Hoiberg has never been a coach on any level, Matt, as a sports talk host, who is paid to give his OPINION was abosuetely (sp?) right to give his opinion and call it a questionable hire.
I agree that he is certainly entitled to say whatever he wants, it's his show. And he does have a unique personality. What he doesn't have is talent. The constant stuttering and stammering, jumping from random comment to the next, horrible delivery, etc. is like nails on a chalkboard. I can't think of a less talented radio host that I've ever heard. Not sure what he was doing all those years in Huntsville and Omaha, but it wasn't polishing his skills, that's for sure.
Regardless of his opionions, the man is just hard to listen to.

This kinda sums it up. CW is so much more polished on the radio - smoother delivery, doesn't interrupt, more measured and thoughful.
You haven't listened to the new KXNO morning show, then. Whoever that Tim guy is, he has a terrible radio voice.
