Ms Marvel had good characters and I liked the cultural aspect of it. I was pretty excited after the first couple episodes but then it went downhill. Last episode was solid though and some interesting tidbits at the end and post credits. I just think the trip overseas didn't really add much and some of that part of the plot didn't make a whole lot of sense.

Oh and one other thing the choice on two groups of villains was bad.

I actually don't mind that the show didn't really have a clear, strongly established villain. This show, and the story it was telling, didn't really need one. It was much more about Kamala coming into her own, both as a person and as a superhero, and her relationships with the people around her. And I think the show did a really good job in those areas.

Episode 6 was better than I expected. Kind of have to smile and nod a couple times, but it was solid. Much better than episode 5.

I’m out on the Disney+ shows for a while. She-hulk looks and sounds even worse than this, and I still can’t figure out why they’re making an Echo show.

So, after very much not liking episode 5, episode 6 at least pleasantly ended up better than I expected. Was it great? Not necessarily, but it did at least round out the series better than I thought possible after episode 5. It finally had the fun action and visuals that we all have been waiting for. It also brought back all our favorite characters we like to be around, so more so than anything, I'd say the final episode leaned into its strengths. even if the the series didn't solve its weaknesses. I think we can all agree the weaknesses of this series was easily its edited and cut to pieces villain storyline, similar to The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Well, turns out today the writers for that series ran into some of the same problems where Covid forced them to cut and edit a bunch of stuff out. Its really a shame.

I was more into the reveal before the credits than the one after them. I'm totally digging that she was revealed to be the first MCU 616 mutant we know of. I also really loved the old X-Men animated series theme showing up both in this mutant reveal as well as for Professor X in Multiverse of Madness. I hope this is just the tip of the iceberg of that theme reshowing itself.

The series does a better job of giving us a bunch of likeable characters than it does giving us a great story. The net effect is still mostly enjoyable.

Is anyone else on here part of the exclusive Disney Mar/Matchbox survey community where you regularly answer a bunch of Disney+ surveys to help the company out? I personally was selected to be a part of it when I originally signed up for Disney+ through their special 3-year D23 promotion right when it came out. If anyone else is part of the survey community, I'm curious what your thoughts of them are? I'm also curious how many other people have been selected to be a part of them. I personally enjoy the possibility to give exclusive feedback to everything on Disney+, in which I know Disney is actually listening, even if it takes quite a bit of time to fill out the surveys. I've also found multiple instances where you can get indications of futures installments of certain things and or even confirmations of certain projects which technically aren't announced yet.

I tend to be more with you. I find it to be not as bad as people make it out to be, but it still is one of the worst MCU movies.

Which I think has been a key part of the MCU's success.

There have been great movies and forgettable ones, but none that were the kind of stinkers that make you regret the purchase.

I like Thor: The Dark World, I just also find it one of the worst couple of MCU movies. Like alarson, I found it very bland and forgettable.

I saw a Hemsworth interview where he said his brother tested for the Thor role numerous times and always killed it

They really liked him but in the end decided he was just too young looking for what they had in mind.

And yes, the story ends with “Hey, he’s got an older brother that looks just like him”.

Love and Thunder wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be, but it’s a mess for sure. Certain parts needed to be excised for sure, but it definitely needed to be longer. There seemed to be no connective tissues from scene to scene.

It honestly felt like it was a parody at times, but of what I’m just not sure. I just wonder if Taika was off his meds making this movie, because it felt like the movie itself had ADHD.

Also I really hope they added a body suit to Russell Crowe, because if not good lord he has gotten fat.
I’m all for more Thor going forward, but I would hand the reins to a different director. A more grounded movie would be nice for once.

MADAME WEB Pushed Back To October 6, 2023; Untitled Spider-Man Spin-Off Given 2024 Release Date

Sony Pictures has shifted around some dates on its upcoming release schedule, with Madame Web pushed back by almost three months to October 6, 2023, and an untitled SPUMC movie set to hit theaters in 2024.

Madame Web getting moved back. Bummer, not that I'm super excited for this project, but I'm all for consuming content sooner rather than later.
