I liked MoM, but I won’t see it multiple times in the theater like I did No Way Home and some others.

I think I count two problems that I had with it:

A. How did Defender Strange’s corpse get so decayed in just a few hours? Yeah, the only goal here is to make this look like a zombie movies. Looking like he was exsanguinated would have been good enough. All you would have needed to do is provide the proper wound first—and I seem to recall they did.

B. Yes, Wanda made a great badass. But she has even one of my favorite characters since I was reading Avengers in the ‘80’s, and I felt that using her as the bad guy again was doing the character a disservice.

(Note that I was roommates with one of Mayhem’s founders when it first opened, but stopped reading/collecting comics circa 1992)

Sure, I get “she used the Darkhold”, but Wanda was more “brutally efficient” than “tainted evil”. I feel like this makes a redemption arc for one of my favorite characters impossible-without killing her off for good in the process.

So...the CGI in the octopus scene was either really really bad or intentionally done in a comic book manner. Either way, it did not work for me. I actually didn't mind the multiverse aspect of the movie, which was something I was dreading going into it.

Watching Wandavision certainly felt like a necessity going into this. I would have really been wondering what was going on otherwise. Given how Wandavision ended, it still felt like a WCW-worthy heel turn for Wanda nonetheless.

Overall, this ranked pretty low in the MCU rankings for me. Some things hit, but the feel of the movie jumped as much as the universes did. Horror, feel good, superhero, splashes of bad comedy, sci-fi. It felt like someone was writing the script and then another person goes, "Hey, maybe we should do this" and the writer just goes, "Yeah, whatever. We'll throw that in there."

Looks like Feige is still searching the a Fantastic 4 director and is considering mostly big-named ones. My personal #2 choice would be John Krasinski, but if it were him, I would have thought it likely would have already been decided. The fact that they are still looking leads me to believe it will be someone else. I could be wrong though. There have also been rumors for weeks swirling that it could be Bryce Dallas Howard, which if true, wouldn't be a bad choice either.

It's hard to believe Ms Marvel is coming out in just 4 days on Wednesday. With so many things like Obi-Wan, Stranger Things and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds grabbing attention, it kind of seems like it is slipping in the back door. While I would be lying to say I am super hyped for it, I'm hoping I am pleasantly surprised.

Bryce Dallas Howard would be a fantastic choice if she’s interested in the project.

I will be curious to hear anyone's thoughts on Captain Marvel as you get guys get a chance to watch it.
Presumably you mean Ms. Marvel. Haven't watched it yet, but I have a feeling it certainly won't be for everyone. And frankly, that's ok. As I get older, it gets a little more difficult to enjoy the kid focused stories, especially if my kids aren't watching it.

Yeah, my bad. I will say that reviews have been pretty good so far, so I guess that is better than getting bad reviews.

It worked. It kept all the stuff that makes Kamala such a relatable character, and added some quirky animation touches that really fit.

People will be upset about the changes, because people, but the changes managed to keep things true to her comic origins while using a different visual.

It was good enough that I might rewatch it, and that's not generally my TV series thing. Also, post-credit scene looks important.

Good to know there is a post-credits scene. Is there anything so far to say she is an Inhuman like she is in the comics? Prior to Multiverse of Madness, I would have guessed they would shy away from her being an Inhuman, but afterwards due to things in that movie, I'm more uncertain. Might want to put a spoiler tag on a response.

The word never came up.

The show is definitely not for the mainstream audience, but I enjoyed it. My 3-year-old daughter watched it with me and it kept her entertained the entire time. I count that as a huge win for this Marvel fan.

I liked it. Don’t really understand the post-credits, but the show is well done so far.

Seems like it’ll tie in the 10 rings somehow but I literally know nothing about this character
