Is Iron Man really going to be in it much though? I would imagine hes sprinkled in from time to time, but I have hard time believing he will be in it extensively.

I'd guess that he's only there to make the connection to the Avengers and wider universe. That bit about focusing on bigger targets has to be just for that purpose.

And there's classic Spidey stuff just in the trailer. He's nerdy, funny, really fast with the head movement thing, and the web holding everything together. That's just classic Spidey.

I think it looks pretty good. It kills me when the hardcore nerds immediately decree it as a terrible movie after one trailer. Pretty hilarious.

The Spider-Man sequel has been given a release date of July 5, 2019. Forbes (of all places) has a great article on why this is the perfect release date, as this would be the first entry of "Phase 4" in the MCU.

http://www.forbes.com/sites/scottme...best-choice-to-start-phase-four/#6efe5656cc71

But Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 will be the first MCU movie to debut after the presumably status quo-altering events of The Movie Previously Known As Avengers: Infinity War part II. If, and this is a big "if," we end up in an MCU without major roles for Iron Man, Thor and Captain America, then the goal is to build an MCU centered around the newly introduced likes of Doctor Strange, Black Panther, and Captain Marvel. And if the Phase Four MCU arrives with a radically skewed status quo, then Marvel's most famous and most popular superhero is the very definition of a soft landing.

Justice League should be higher but DC has been a little underwhelming to me so far (I don't think there as bad as some people but they definitely could've been better)

I'm like you where I ranked Logan. Post-Apocalypse, I would have ranked Logan dead-last easy. However, these trailers have me really intrigued. I'm big in the boat of wanting something new, creative, and different out of each one of these movies, even with the realization that task gets increasingly more difficult to do. Not doing this was X-Men: Apocalypse's downfall. In fact, take away the CGI difference, and you'd swear it was made in the early 2000s, and maybe would have been decent then.... not so much now. However, those Logan trailers came out and were NOT what I was expecting, which isn't a bad thing at all. Now, they truly have me intrigued and I can't wait for Logan. We'll then see if the innovativeness of what the trailers are projecting also play over into the actual movie.

I agree on Logan. I am really intrigued. Looks like it could be a lot different than anything we have seen which would be great!

I guess 20th Century Fox gave some journalists a taste of movies that are upcoming in 2017. Apparently they showed off the first 40 minutes of Logan and a majority of journalists came away extremely impressed.

My rankings in anticipation:

Guardians.
Tie with Spidey and Thor.

Won't watch the other 3. They just aren't for me.

Michael Keaton has a lot of good things to say about Marvel in this interview with him. I still find it fascinating still that many actors out there take parts like these, yet still have never even watched any of the other movies in that particular universe, nor care to. Shoot, they don't even watch their own films either. I'm not saying that should preclude them from being a part of a movie, but I still find it kind of weird and fascinating. In general, I guess I like my actors in these worlds a bit more invested like a Chris Evans. Jessie Eisenberg was the same way with Batman v Superman. In hindsight, it probably wasn't the wisest decision to choose him to be Lex Luthor. As for Keaton, I think he is good enough that it probably won't make a difference and I'm okay with it.

Yeah. I gave up on the DC movies pretty quickly. They just don't interest me much.
Logan is an off-chance, but I'm not that interested, and I doubt Fox will do well with it.

I get it. I guess to each their own. It isn't exactly like the DCEU is hitting things out of the park, even though I still at least remain optimistic still for the future (I'm an optimist in general). As for Fox's Marvel stuff, things have definitely been very hit or miss on that front and there is no doubt there is getting a pretty strong overall staleness to that universe outside of Deadpool.

MCU only guy huh??

I'm sort of in the same boat. I'll watch the DC movies, but they just don't get me going. The Dark Night Trilogy was the exception. I really haven't been able to embrace any of the Superman reboots.

It doesn't help that almost all the comics I've ever read have been Marvel, mostly X-Men.

I'm cautiously optimistic for the soft X reboot. I really want a GREAT X-men franchise, but Fox tends to fall short usually.

Did you see that they confirmed that the new film will be "New Mutants" and that shooting starts this May?

Even though I actually prefer DC superheroes over Marvel in general, I'm not ready to give the DCEU top billing until they prove otherwise. Lego Batman gets a decent ranking because those are entertaining movies and I'll get to watch that one with my son.

I might actually like New Mutants MORE than X-Men. Specifically because I started reading it from New Mutants #1

I've got to remember to thank my older brother for buying all of them and letting me read them. I did have to wait till I was a teenager to do so, of course.

I just rewatched "The Wrestler" and I gotta say I agree wholeheartedly with Tony Stark's opinion of Aunt May.

Bada Bing.
