More exact details on the upcoming Inhumans TV show that is upcoming next year on ABC and IMAX:

Overall, I find the whole thing intriguing, especially since it sounds this the special effects budget will be much higher than any comparable thing we've seen before, which is essential in my mind. Almost seems like it will end up being kind of a hybrid of like a Marvel Netflix show and a movie. I guess I'm okay with it, but only if it is done well. Up until now, Marvel has proven they can pull off the low-budget Netflix shows nicely. Well, the Inhumans isn't the same as a low-budget Netflix show.

One more detail to add to your post: sounds like the episodes are about 40-minutes long, which makes sense if they are going to eventually air on ABC.

Greg Foster, CEO of IMAX, said at a recent conference the first two episodes comprise around 80 minutes of footage, and will debut exclusively in Imax theaters across all territories on or around September 1, ahead of a two-week theatrical run. ABC will then premiere the first episode of the eight-episode series on September 26. [THR]

I'm wondering how this will do. I have seen some of the Doctor Who episodes when they were released in theaters and I was surprised at the large turnout in West Des Moines, so maybe this release will do well. If anything, it's a good way to test the waters to see if an Inhumans movie is worth the production costs.

I'd maybe consider going if the feedback was initially good and since it is in IMAX. However, I live in Cedar Rapids where there is no IMAX theater, so it will be a no-go for me. Also, even if it was just getting released in a normal theater, I can't say I'd be willing to fork out the cash just to see it on a big screen knowing it will be on TV for free shortly thereafter, unless the feedback was REALLY good. The IMAX hook is slightly different for me if only we had a close IMAX theater.

New Guardians of the Galaxy 2 trailer just dropped today. Man, I love Rocket Raccoon.
Awesome trailer but I'm curious why Marvel/Disney chose to release it now? I figured it would have premiered at Star Wars: Rogue One. I'm sure they will still play it but I wonder what the big trailer reveals will be in front of Rogue One? I'm almost positive there will be a teaser trailer for Star Wars Episode 8, but I'm wondering if we could also get our first glimpse of Thor: Ragnarok?

Some people think we'll get a Justice League actual trailer. Also, I think the big one will be the first Spider trailer.

While I liked it, I found myself thinking a lot of it seemed a little too much like a generic MCU movie in look and feel, which consequently left me a bit underwhelmed. Oh well, I'm still excited. Also thought it was a little Tony Stark heavy as I hope he doesn't overshadow Spiderman too much.

I'm the same - I was totally underwhelmed, and I don't know why. I even rewatched it a few times this morning trying to get excited and I just can't do it. I thought the Vulture (esp in the International Trailer) looked pretty good. I think the problem is we've seen this formula before:

Spider-Man has no trouble dispatching the low-level thugs: the jewelry store scene in this trailer, the car theft scene in Amazing Spider-Man, and montage scene in the first Spider-Man movie

Then the action escalates to Spidey fighting the main villain for the first time where they are equally matched/the villain has a slight edge and gets away: balcony scene in Spider-Man 1, Bank robbery scene in Spider-Man 2, high school fight scene with The Lizard in Amazing Spider-Man

Then Spidey saves civilians because the villain puts them in harms way: the boat scene in this trailer is almost identical to the train scene from Spider-Man 2. We also saw the same thing done on the Bridge in Amazing Spider-Man and the apartment fire in the first Spider-Man.

The film ends with the dramatic fight between Spidey and the villain. The difference appears to be that we will get Iron Man in on the action, so maybe the final battle will be more epic on scale rather than the one-on-one match-up the other 5 Spider-Man movies have done.

It's just an early trailer. Are people expecting them to change the Spider-Man character? I think it will be pretty good and give us a member of the future avengers for the movies to come.
