Found this to be a very interesting find. With the new Guardians of the Galaxy ride at Disneyland soon to be open, many pictures are hitting the web showing all the different things in Taneleer Tivan's collection. We've got a taste of a few of those Easter Eggs in the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie, but a few new VERY interesting things have popped up, particularly Beta Ray Bill's hammer, and some artifacts from Atlantis. Therefore, this leads one to believe that at some point here, we are likely to see both Namor and Beta Ray Bill in the near-term movie future. Maybe, maybe not? For one, there is no guarantee that everything there is canon, even though my guess is Disney intends it to be. Also, just because they may exist in the MCU doesn't guarantee they will show up in the movies. Regardless, it is fun to at least know they exist for sure. This overall would be our first indication of Beta Ray Bill, even though he was rumored to be in GOTG 2, only to be proven as a false rumor. As for Namor, he has been hinted at already once actually during a post-credits scene of I think Iron Man 2 on a Shield World map that had a weird indicating marker of interest in the Middle of the Atlantic Ocean, which leads us to believe that is the location of Atlantis.

It's funny you mention this - Stan Lee was doing an interview this week and stated that there is a surprise character that will debut in Infinity War. He was cut-off by one of his staffers so speculation is rampant that it's one of the two characters you have mentioned.

Edit: turns out he made that comment here in Des Moines at Wizard World Comic Con

Speaking at a Q&A in Des Moines, Iowa, Lee told the assembled group, including Gamezone, that a major new character – or characters – will appear in Infinity War. From the sound of it, Lee was then told by his assistant that he couldn’t discuss it any further (shame!) but he did add that fans will be pleased.

I saw that too and it very well could be one of those two characters. However, if I had to guess, I'm going to say that Beta Ray Bill actually shows up first in Thor: Ragnarok and that one of the surprise characters in Infinity War is likely for sure Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel. With that said, my guess is she is NOT Captain Marvel yet, but rather just shows up as Air Force Captain Danvers. Then, her own movie ends up being more her origin story showing her getting her powers. As for the second surprise character, I'm still pretty open on that. I'd be really surprised if it was actually Namor though.

I think you are right about about Carol Danvers showing up as Infinity War would probably the event that changes her to Captain Marvel. Another name I have heard floated around is that Mar-Vell, the Kree alien, shows up. His storyline would be the logical link to explain how Carol Danvers gets her powers.

Not a bad suggestion as well. In the end, Infiniti War already has enough characters on its plate to worry about introducing someone quite as new and as big as Namor. Plus, I'm not sure he would even fit the storyline at all too much. Mar-Vell would be a lot more realistic.

Not MCU related, but Marvel movie related all the same. Well, Sony is wasting no time really pushing forward with their new non-Spidey Spideyverse by already announcing today a new title for their upcoming Black Cat/Silver Sable movie as well as its director. The new title will be Silver and Black and the director will be Gina Prince-Bythewood. This comes pretty quickly on the heels of Sony also announcing Tom Hardy as the main character in their upcoming Venom movie. Again, with Peter Parker Spider-Man being in the MCU at this time, the latest is that neither of these movies will actually include Spider-Man, even though these are all essentially Spider-Man supporting characters. Shoot, at this latest pace of news items, I might have to consider starting yet another thread titled Sony's Marvel Spidey-verse or whatever they decide to call their universe in the end!!!

As for my thoughts on the director, I really don't have much. Haven't seen anything she has directed, so I'll just have to take their word on it at this point. With that said, I try not to judge too much as Marvel has had plenty of success going with relatively unknown directors, so they've proven you don't always need a big name to produce a good movie.

I really think this movie will be much different than the typical Marvel movie we are used to, so that gets me excited. Also, his introduction in Civil War, while not as flashy and talked-about as Spidey's intro, was every bit as well pulled off.

Cool trailer with a cool feel. Definitely not what I expected, but I guess that is what I've been asking for, so it is all good. Looking forward to the finished product. Gotta admit the look of everything almost looks more like it is from another planet in Thor: Ragnarok than earth, but that is kind of what Wakanda is.

Zendaya's character in Spider-Man: Homingcoming, currently known only as "Michelle" has been revealed. There was some fan backlash that she could be Mary Jane Watson or Gwen Stacy but that isn't the case.

I'll put this as a spoiler for now, but I have a feeling this will make the rounds and will become public knowledge.

Her character is Michelle Toomes, which means she is mostly likely the daughter of Adrian Toomes/The Vulture played by Michael Keaton. This feels very reminiscent of the relationship from the very first Tobey Maguire Spider-Man movie where he was friends with Harry Osborn and also fighting the Green Goblin

You've gotta love James Gunn's passion for the fans, the MCU, and his GOTG movies. He truly is just a fan-nerd himself with all the fun stuff he does to interact with all the other fans out there. A good example is this most recent tweet:

http://www.cbr.com/guardians-of-the-galaxy-vol-3-james-gunn-quasar/

At first glance, it is juts a old nostalgic post reminiscing his family's old tape player, which makes total sense when you factor in all the nostalgia that comes with the GOTG movies. However, if you look closer, it is a Quasar brand tape player, which I have 100% confidence that he is hinting at the future entry of the comic book character Quasar into one of his movies. Why I have 100% confidence is because this type of stuff is just what James Gunn does.

Well, this is the first news we've officially heard to pretty much confirm that there will in fact be a third Spider-Man solo film.

https://www.comicbookmovie.com/spid...trilogy-according-to-star-tom-holland-a151783

However, even so, it is worth noting that as far as what's has been announced out there, this third Spider-Man solo outing would be above what has been agreed upon so far with Marvel for inclusion into the MCU. Therefore, either this third solo outing will take place only through Sony and outside of the MCU, or there has been deals been done already with Marvel that we don't know about.

"Currently we don’t work on R-Rated movies, it’s not out of the question but currently, no."

That is the latest Feige quote on the potential for future "R" rated MCU movies. I will say this is the first time I've seen him at least open to the possibility for the future movies. Truthfully, I thought that when he had talked before about them multiple times in the past, he had always pretty much closed the door on that possibility.
