I come in peace as a non superhero fan (only one I’ve ever liked was Batman).

I’ve noticed my friends saying they’re burnt out or starting to get burnt out from SuperHero movies/media nowadays and I’m curious if any of y’all are starting to feel that way?

Seems to me based on previews and everything I see on Reddit that it’s not slowing down anytime soon. There’s just too much money still

I think we've hit the peak of it. I can't imagine an event bigger than Endgame. But you're right, it isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

This. I am not even going to watch the trailer. My expectations are super high (probably too high) for L&T but I just don't see how it could be bad.
I actually broke down and watched it. Nothing super spoilery, at least of things we didn't already know. Laughed a bunch, and hope that isn't the extent of the jokes. All the GotG stuff probably happens in the very early part of the film and then they take off I suspect.

I figure it's getting played before DS2, so I'm really just seeing it a few weeks early.

My wife is getting a little burnt out to the extent of not being interested in the shows. I've been trying to get caught up on the "netflix" shows while also doing the disney+ ones. We just watched No Way Home and there were a couple things I had to explain to her like who Peter's lawyer was and Venom at the end. She made a comment to point out that you really need to watch almost everything to catch all of the details.

The TV shows have had dwindling attendance in my house. Wandavision was appointment family television. FatWS saw at least one person out of our 4 not always watch it day of release. Loki was greatly enjoyed by wife and me and she is excited for season 2. What If... my youngest and I watched together and later my oldest got interested at the "Evil" Doctor Strange and Marvel Zombie episodes. The wife enjoyed the Bro Thor one. Hawkeye I watched mostly by myself or with my youngest playing on his Switch in the same room.

Moon Knight has been mostly a solo endeavor, but my oldest said he may watch it when it has all been released. And while I have been excited for it each week, this week I almost forgot it was Wednesday. I ended up watching it at 11 at night as that's when I remember that a new one came out.

I just think my kids aren't as into the episodic format as much as my wife and I are. Waiting a week for the next episode just really isn't their thing.

My stance on Superhero fatigue has always been this, it ebbs and flows with the quality of the movies. As long as the movies stay good and keep reinventing themselves with new styles, genres, and voices, people tend to keep coming back, and it staves off most of the fatigue for the time-being. However, once we start getting a string of bad ones, the fatigue seems to start growing again. Luckily, the MCU's generally high quality so far that has been the consistent totem mostly keeping the train rolling. If we were relying solely on the inconsistent quality of the DC movies, I believe fatigue would be much higher right now.

This probably sounds stupid, but I like to have the events in a super hero movie to be somewhat believable given the characters and overall feel context of the film. Lazily attributing an event occurring based on nothing more than "it's the genre" is irritating. A character's abilities and personality should be written within the flow of the movie, and not be an afterthought or through some spoken exposition.

Also, I know casting and storylines are always important, but, for me, bad dialogue can really destroy a super hero movie.

I can’t wait to see a shredded Natalie Portman.

They had a huge campaign with Brie Larson on her working out / getting built leading up to the captain marvel role. Yet, there has been radio silence on that front for Natalie Portman. I have a feeling it might be a different actress.

Natalie had mentioned in an interview how much work it had been and something she had never done before, much less as a little bit older mother doing all that work. I'll be the first to admit I didn't think she had it in her to get quite to the level she has, so props to her for that. There are just some petite women out there that can only get so big and I figured her to be one of those. I also never would have imagined Kumail Nanjiani getting as jacked as he did, so she isn't the first to prove me wrong.

Sony announced an upcoming El Muerto Spider-Man spin-off movie starring Bad Bunny in the lead role. I'm sorry, this is just getting ridiculous with Sony and all their fringe anti-heroes, much less signing up a Puerto Rican rapper as the lead. Who was asking for this movie at all? Its hard not to think this movie has terrible written all over it, especially after seeing Morbius. I get it that you are wanting to add some diversity into the slate by having a latino lead, but first of all, give me a character who I actually want to see, and secondly, give me an actual Latino actor in the role. If Sony is wanting to create their own little side-universe over there, get somebody to actually head it that isn't Avi Arad or Amy Pascal.

Sony has a big Spider Verse with no Spiderman it's weird. I'm honestly not too interested in any of the movies. Only one I've seen is the first Venom. I'm sure I'll catch them all someday.

I'm not necessarily against them going in this direction, but show me that you have some type of well laid-out plan for all of this, and give me writers and directors whose greatest achievements aren't Gods of Egypt, Dracula Untold and The Last Witch Hunter. Otherwise, this whole thing is started to wreak of a mindless cash grab.

Moon Knight ep 5, what the **** was that?

I mean, I like their introspection into mental health and such, and I think that's an interesting topic. But that's not at all how I expected this series to go. With a six episode series, spending 1-1/2 of those in a completely different genre and feeling is a bold move.

I guess we'll see how they end it next week.

I agree, it’s hard to think how they’ll be able to wrap this up considering they haven’t resolved this weird asylum afterlife plot. I’m thinking we get a cliffhanger or we get a super rushed final episode.

IMO, that is one of the best episodes of any of the Marvel shows we've seen to this point.

There are some actors who I think I would be enthralled by watching them read the list of ingredients from a box of Cheerios, and Oscar Issac is one of those actors. His performance in what is a very difficult dual role is nothing short of amazing, and he single-handedly is making "Moon Knight" one of my favorite MCU TV shows so far. I know Disney + shows don't get a whole lot of love during Emmy nomination time, but I really, really hope he gets nominated for Best Actor. He has been that good in this show.

I get, appreciate, and understand that this curveball they're throwing at us isn't for everyone. But personally I love it.

Yeah, I'm not sure that I disliked it in any way. Just not what I expected to happen going in. But I watched 4 and 5 back to back, so I didn't have the week off in between which probably made it a much bigger swing from the end of ep 3 to this versus watching it every week.
