I too finished the episode and found myself at least entertained and intrigued by this episode. It was light years better than the garbage last one and one of the better ones of the series for sure. I'll give it credit.

I think this one was so good for me because it was the closest to what I was thinking "What If?" was going to be. They took a real situation from the movies that was super important (Ultron trying to fuse himself with the body of what was to become Vision) and gave us the real stakes of what would have/could have happened had the Avengers not stopped it from happening. Because if you think about it, an Ultron with the Vision's body AND the infinity stones would have been exactly what this episode portrayed...total destruction for Earth and whatever else he wanted.
What I find fascinating is how Marvel/Disney/Feige found a way to explain the MCU tearing-apart in multiple ways: the last episodes of What If, Loki, and WandaVision (and presumably the events in Spider-Man No Way Home*) all seem to place the "blame" on events in those respective shows, but they are all part of a larger narrative. It makes it easy for new viewers to be introduced to the chaos while also finding ways for longtime fans to want to stick with Phase 4.

This video does a good job of laying out all the current suspects of who broke the multi-verse. After watching it, you quickly realize how many different directions this thing can go. It is far from clear at this point.
I'll say this as a tease to any who haven't seen the latest What if....? episode. A certain MCU character is brought back that I DID NOT see coming, but made complete sense once you learn why. It is cool to see him back.
I did not see an overarching story coming out of What if? I figured it was a bunch of one shots but this last episode has me excited for the finale when my overall feeling has been “there’s nothing on, I guess I’ll watch What if?”
Also Jeffrey Wright has been excellent as Uatu. I couldn’t understand why he took the role when it just seemed to be a couple of lines of narration/commentary bookending episodes but now it makes sense.

I finally saw Shang-Chi last weekend (way later than I wanted). I enjoyed the movie, but I definitely went into it with higher hopes than I should have. The pacing seemed off. There were some really fun action scenes (bus fight and building fight), but there was a section in the middle of the movie that kinda plodded along for me.
Visually, it was great. I thought Simu Liu was cast perfectly. Michelle Yeoh was her normal awesome self. I wish I could say I was an Awkwafina fan. She played the role fine, but there's something about her that bothers me. It could be her voice.
I appreciated the styling of the movie incorporating both Marvel as well as some of the old Chinese Kung-Fu movies that I remember watching growing up. I'm anxious to re-watch it when it comes out on Disney+ to see if watching it with more modest expectations helps me enjoy it more. I really want to improve my opinion of it.
And the way the final dragon/beast was defeated had me mouth "what the ****" while I was watching it.

Venom 2 currently sitting at a 67% on Rotten Tomatoes. Not great score, but decently better than what the critics gave the first one. After compiling the reviews, it sounds like this is a slightly better amped-up version of Venom 1, which is likely what most expected. You also get lots of if you like the first one, you will like this one, but if not, likely won't.

He's not my cup of tea. Joking and Ultron also just don't fit. The joking isn't his fault, but I liked having a clean slate for this version.
I think you have to chalk that up to MCU Ultron being a creation of Tony Stark and not Hank Pym. It’d be impossible for Ultron to not have some snark to him coming from Tony.

Awesome episode this week. Really brought everything together for the big ending.
But my biggest takeaway from this weeks episode is that Age of Ultron should have been at least two movies. He is such a terrifying villain and was undeservedly squeezed into one movie that did not do him justice.
Thanos is the only big bad that was given the respect of a multiple movie arc, which is a shame.

(Non-Spoiler Review) Just got home from seeing Venom 2 and I can say I enjoyed it enough. I'll be interested to see if it grows on me like the first one did. I still enjoy the 1st one more as of now. Like critics have said, it's pretty much Venom 1 on steroids. There is no futsing around in this one either. The plot moves in this thing with zero wasted time. I'd argue it would have benefited from an extra 20 minutes, but it still managed alright at the short run time. At the end of the day, this movie is what it says it is. It is Venom Let There Be Carnage and it is both another Venom movie and there is much Carnage. No false advertising going on here. So, like many have said, if you like the first one, you likely will enjoy this one, but if you didn't like the first one, you likely won't switch sides. This movie isn't exactly Citizen Kane, but it never tries to be. It just wants to have fun and I think the majority will have fun.
