Malik Dime---Indian Hills (reported UW commit)

Whether he starts or not I don't see Georgios exhausting his eligibility at ISU. I think that he will either improve enough that his size will be marketable in the NBA or he goes back home to make a living playing pro ball in Europe. I don't have a link, this is just a feeling I have.

If he can bulk up to 250-260 over next four years, he will get a look. He can shoot and is mobile at 7-1. Just needs more meat and potatos.

Fred usually lets new players do their thing in non conference and he gradually corrects them. Lots of fugly play at start of season normally. If they do not man up by end of Dec, they watch from the bench as he has other players.

Every decent team usually goes 10-11 deep against the fluff of their non-con. Once conference season starts and the rotation shrinks, I don't see Tsalmpouris as part of the regular rotation. But as has been pointed out, I don't see practice and those that do may disagree. If he is, then good for ISU because he will be good enough to beat out some very good players.
 
I'm just glad we are at the point of not needing Georgios to contribute. It's a nice luxury to have to be able to take on some high ceiling guys (literally and figuratively with Georgios) and if they develop, great, if not, your team has ample talent to not miss out on him not being good enough to see the floor. This isn't a move you'd see on a team with 4-5 quality players, but is one you like to see when you can comfortably go 4-5 guys deep into the bench.
 
I would have loved to sign this guy but as others have said, there will be a guy on the transfer wire this year that can sit while Niang/McKay are playing who will be ready to step in.

I agree, we'll always tighten up our rotation as the year goes on. Hopefully Taslbo can be used as a change up occasionally and average about 5 min/game during conference time. But as you said, any minutes he gets are minutes not going to Nader, Hogue, Niang and McKay. If he has potential, and you're winning games, then investing a few minutes each game to help get GT ready for 2015 and beyond may be well worth it. There's no guarantee that you won't face an injury (see Niang) late in the year. It's unlikely but it's also possible that Niang could move on after this year.

Washington has 3 forwards and 2 centers on their current roster. They will lose one of the forwards next year, so that will leave 4 post players. Then their 2015 recruiting class now includes 3 power forwards (including Dime) and one small forward. One of the other power forwards besides Dime is a 4 star recruit and is #53 overall ranked player by ESPN. That will give them a total of 8 post players next year. At present, ISU has 5 forwards and 1 center on their roster (depending on how you classify them) and will lose at least 2 of those by next season. I say at least 2 because (if they live up to the hype) there is the possibility that McKay and Niang could both try the NBA draft in 2015. ISU's class of 2015 now includes one forward. If Dime had committed to ISU, the Cyclones would have had a total of only 6 post players next season.....so how does going to Washington give him a better shot at playing time? I guess I just don't see how that could be a reason.

Your post makes sense, and thats why Dime indicated several other reasons for his choice to UW in print such as 1) liking quarter system vs. semesters to get done faster. (his words not mine) 2) former teammate and close friend Winters already playing at UW this season. 3) .... and whatever other recruits think about when choosing a school? You're right, UW will have alot of post players competing for time. Don't think ISU's returning roster had anything to do with his going elsewhere, imo.

Hmm interviews with him make me feel different. He talks about how important his "studies" are to him. I'm calling it now, georgios walks down the aisle and receives his degree from ISU.

It wasn't really that breaking of news to a lot of people. I said on 10-11-14 that Washington was the leader and ISU was his second choice at that point, and I think that's the way it ended. Sorry I didn't reveal my source and I won't but to people around Indian Hills it was pretty common knowledge.

If you had knowledge from around Indian Hills then that makes sense, but apparently our coaches weren't aware of that same inside info as late as Sunday. Sounded like they were optimistic. Recruiting headaches 101, I guess.
 
TJ was relentless. Coaches come in regularly from all over the country. The laughable thing is the school just up the road to the North that could use a lot of the kids never show up.
