Malik Dime---Indian Hills (reported UW commit)

I think it is that Fred is out of gas and needs to be fired for loosing this recruit.
Just thought I would say it first

I am perfectly fine with this. Would of loved Dime but already believe we're a top 15 going into next year and anyone who Fred adds between now and then will be gravy. I honestly think we are set and anyone who Fred adds will be based upon how this year plays out. If Thomas doesn't take the next step, then I think we'll be in the market for a guard. If he does, I love our backcourt for next year.

I root for every recruit we miss on to play on a crappy team and for us to win a National title. Then i will root for Fred to call and heckle said recruit. Thats just how I am.

He "reported" in this thread that he was working the phones and he was hearing Washington was the "clubhouse leader" or something like that, probably around 10 or so this morning.

Haven't we learned by now that this is CW "leaking" the information, but including contingencies so that others can claim the title of announcing it first? When has CW said something like this and been wrong? Let the others claim the glory for breaking the news, but we know where we hear it first.

Wonder if the recruitment of Tsalmpouris was a factor. Weird to have almost had a third rim protector (if Tsalmpouris is able to step up and be one which seems quite likely).

Tsalmpouris likely isn't going to be a contributor in the two years that Dime would have been at ISU. I don't see a guy like that being in the rotation until his 3rd year and a real contributor until his 4th year.

Your expertise on absolutely everything and your gift in relaying that expertise to us mere mortals is humbling. Please never stop.

Here is something I do not understand about Dime's choice. Many seem to be indicating that he probably went to Washington because of available playing time versus what he could have expected at ISU.

Washington has 3 forwards and 2 centers on their current roster. They will lose one of the forwards next year, so that will leave 4 post players. Then their 2015 recruiting class now includes 3 power forwards (including Dime) and one small forward. One of the other power forwards besides Dime is a 4 star recruit and is #53 overall ranked player by ESPN. That will give them a total of 8 post players next year. At present, ISU has 5 forwards and 1 center on their roster (depending on how you classify them) and will lose at least 2 of those by next season. I say at least 2 because (if they live up to the hype) there is the possibility that McKay and Niang could both try the NBA draft in 2015. ISU's class of 2015 now includes one forward. If Dime had committed to ISU, the Cyclones would have had a total of only 6 post players next season.....so how does going to Washington give him a better shot at playing time? I guess I just don't see how that could be a reason.

- says a guy who knows nothing's about said player.

I can count and unless ISU is going to have 11 guys pulling double digit minutes, Georgios is going to be spending his first few years eating, working out and practicing. Dude is 7'1" and has "bulked up" to about 225 by shoving cheeseburgers and mexican food in his mouth as much as possible. I think ISU looks to have a lot of better options than Georgios for contributor minutes. What would you put the over/under on Georgios games with 10+ minutes? It's not a knock on Tsalmpouris to say that he is not looking like he's ready to be a contributor yet. Just means ISU has better options. 6 years ago, that kid is probably starting or one of the first bigs off the bench at this point.
