Malik Dime---Indian Hills (reported UW commit)

Re: Malik Dime---Indian Hills

Probably good enough to warrant a scholarship if you have all the pieces but true size on the inside. He will be key in helping them win a few games they otherwise would not.

Are juco's with two to play ever taken on as projects? Seems like a waste.

Edozie. Sometimes you have an open spot and they project can at least fill an occasional need.

I scratched my head with the Edozie offer, but with some good coaching and effort by Edozie, he has probably been worth the scholarship, even if he provided minimal productivity.

Is that a project? I would not call Edozie a project. He came in as a limited role player and will leave as a limited role player, with the same type of development almost ALL players have, maybe even less. I doubt the staff envisioned him being anything else.

I was just responding to your "waste" comment.

Manyang may have a little higher upside than Edozie because he's a 7-footer, but they're both guys with 2 years to play that aren't locks to make a big impact, IMO.

I would probably take Manyang before I would Edozie because he's got more length.

Not sure how Manyang is any more of a "waste" than Edozie, but frankly it's not bad to have a 7-footer project type (see Georgios) on your roster in case you need him, just as we needed Edozie a couple of times last year.

Wouldn't a project be better than that? A guy who starts as a limited role player but could possibly become more compared to someone you plan on never getting better?

Re: Malik Dime---Indian Hills

I hadn't even considered that he could show up and announce at Hilton madness. What a scene that would be...

Excellent first post. Welcome to CF.

I agree. It would be a fantastic scene to have him walk up to Hoiberg and commit right on the Hilton floor!

Re: Malik Dime---Indian Hills

Possibly dumb question: How do you pronounce the last name? In my head I keep saying it dee-may, but I have no idea if that's correct.

It's pronounced just like the coin.

Re: Malik Dime---Indian Hills

One thing I'm sure Dime is aware of is that while ISU has some talented forwards, UW has 3 JRs 6'10+ (though none have proven much), and Arkansas two 6'10 Sophs, one of whom, Bobby Portis, was a 5* prospect who averaged 12 PPG as a freshman last year.

Also, per above linked article: Dime averaged 2.9 blk/g in 10 min? Yes, please.

That could work well with an ex IHCC player named Jameel who played the point on the zone press.

6' 9" with incredible wingspan pressuring the ball? That's also yes please.

Re: Malik Dime---Indian Hills

Anyone know if Malik Dime was at Hilton Madness sitting front row SE side? If not who?
