Lucca to have knee surgery

I'm hoping that he's able to come back by the time Big 12 play starts which is early January, so that gives him about 80 days to rehab.

It's just arthroscopic. No need to meltdown right now, it might not be much of anything.

And in the event it is serious, from a team standpoint, we certainly have more perimeter depth than we do in the paint.

theres a decent probability that he can have this taken care of and be on schedule to play, depends on the severity of whats there. Dont cut the tree down yet, id say its 50/50

Knee scopes are such a broad term. It could mean weeks of a non-weight bearing status to returning to activity in a week or two. It is not uncommon for guys to be scoped and being VERY active in a week or two. But the way these things heal can be really tricky, just ask Jason Scales.

If they are only doing arthroscopic after an MRI I'd consider that good news. The only thing I'd be worried about is if they go in to repair meniscus rather than just clean it up... Repairs take a long time to heal (months and no weight bearing), while cleaning up rough edges or tears are usually means 2 weeks or less.

In any case, the good news is that all the ligaments appear to be intact (6 month recovery time) as these would have been blatantly obvious, even without the MRI.

As of now I'm not all that concerned...

Depends on how bad stuf is in there. Arthroscopic isnt too bad you can recover from that fairly fast, like a week probaly. How long he is out all depends on what they fix when they are in there.
