Lucca screwed us bad!

Excuses. Nothing but excuses. Had Lucca been here it would have been that he was taking Scott's minutes resulting in bad defense. We just are not good. We lack coaching and thus fundamentals, and although Colvin is starting to establish himself as a leader, we currently don't have a strong leader on the floor.

Excuses aside... we are just bad.

Agreed. ISU has not been even mediocre in MBB for going on 5 years.

I would say if Christopherson was healthy we win...If we hit a reasonalble number of 3s against K-State instead of starting 1 for 15 we win...Of course Lucca wouldn't have played as good of D so it would probably be a wash there.

SC needs to rest.

I don't know if I agree with the premise of the thread. I thought he screwed us pretty well.

Can we please stop talking about Lucca..

I'm not sure why some people continue to talk about Lucca. Its worthless to talk about him or what he could of done for the Clones. We need to stop thinking or asking what if. He's gone, so lets please move on and concentrate on the people who are here and stop worrying about those who are not. This includes Wes Johnson.

Thanks

I think we would have 4 more wins in conference with Lucca. Just like we would have won 7 more games last season if we would have had Wes J. Just like how we would have won 6 or 7 more 2 years ago with Mike Taylor.

If Lucca was still here, ISU gives up about 10 more points per game so I think net/net we are even. BTW, Mizzou played awful tonight. (I thought) ISU was lucky to be in this game.

Is this an ***official*** request to stop talking about Lucca?:jimlad:

Well, we weren't exactly lighting the world on fire either. Neither team played great, we had every chance in the world to win even though we did shoot awful.

As much as we don't need to make excuses, because our team is not good, they certainly haven't been dealt a very good hand this year.

For this game, we had:

JVB - Out
Boozer - Out
German Shooter Guy - Gone
Dendy - Out
SC - Mono

For real... that just sucks. And don't flame me, cause I understand that at some point this team has to overcome adversity to be anything other than bad.. but still.

Even a healthy Christopherson would have an off game now and then. Losing Lucca was huge.

Its not like Lucca is the only guy who gets beat of the dribble.

This!

Losing players has nothing to do with this. They don't help, but this was a bad team before and is a bad team now. You can't just say if Lucca plays were 9 points better and would have won tonight. It dosen't work that way. We lost. And we are a horrible basketball team. We will be a horrible team next year.

This. I'm tired of hearing about how grateful we should be that SC is playing through mono. He is terrible, perhaps through no fault of his own, but he is terrible right now. Missing those two threes at a crucial point in the game was bad enough, but his defense and rebounding was even worse! I still have hopes that SC can be a good player when he has recovered, but he is doing nothing but hurting us right now. At least get someone with energy to run up and down the court in there..

Oh, and yes I think we would've won this game with Lucca, we also would've won this game with Wes Johnson while you're at it. We aren't getting either of them back.
