Lost MLB ballparks

I went to Wrigley before the Ricketts completely desecrated it and the surrounding area. Does that count?

I only have 8.

My dad brought me to the last game at old Comiskey and the first game at new Comiskey when I was 2, so I don’t remember it, but we have the photos to prove it.

Also went to the Metrodome, County Stadium, Busch Memorial, Shea Stadium, Yankee Stadium, Ballpark in Arlington and the Astrodome.

My goal is to visit every major league teams home venue, but the main one I want to go to that I haven’t is Fenway. My dad had a trip planned for us in 2001 but things got turned on their head with 9/11 and we never made the trip out there.

Great topic

Old Busch in St. Louis
3 Rivers in Pittsburg
Olympic Stadium in Montreal
Cinergy in Cincinnati
Metrodome in Minn.
Veterans Stadium in Philadelphia.
Royals Stadium before they reworked the entire stadium.

Saw a Rangers game in Arlington already this year, and going to Atlanta's new stadium in July, so I can erase a couple more off the list this summer.

Old Busch
Shea Stadium
Metrodome

All three of those were essentially cookie cutter stadiums and all three were meh. I wish I could have seen some of the cool old stadiums from the early 20th century like Sportsmans park, Ebbets Field, etc.

How many MLB parks have you been to see games at that now no longer exist.
6 for me.
2 in Minneapolis.
Comiskey park in Chicago.
County Stadium in Milwaukee.
Busch Stadium in ST. Louis
JFK Stadium in Washington D.C. My family went to a Senators-Indians game there in the summer of 68 while on vacation to D.C.
I’ve been to Old Busch, Metrodome, Mile High, Three Rivers, Metropolitan in Minn., and the Astrodome.

Of current stadiums, I’ve been to Oakland, LA Angels, KC, StL, Minnesota, ChiWS, ChiC, Boston, NYY, NYM, and Baltimore. Arizona too but for ISU football.

GREAT topic for discussion:

Comiskey Park (still appears in my dreams...honestly...some dreams are memories of it and some are dreams that are current yet Comiskey is the setting). As a White Sox fan...this is a place I would list as a fantastical wish of going to visit a place that no longer exists.

Others:
Metrodome
County Stadium
Old Busch

I think that is it...

Current ballparks still in use:
Gauarnteed Rate
Wrigley
American Family or Miller Park??
Target Field
Kauffman
Dodger
Angel (both pre and post renovations)
Petco in SD
Tiger (whatever it is called now...wish I would have hit up the real Tiger Stadium)
Coors Field

Metrodome- saw maybe 5 or 6 games there, usually along with about 5,000 other people, most memorial was seeing Cal Ripken play there during his streak. Best thing was getting launched out of the doors by the wind tunnel after the game.

Old Busch- remember Ozzie Smith doing backflips, saw the Braves there in 92 I think when they had Deion, Maddux, Justice, Smoltz, Gant, Pendleton

Old Yankee Stadium-was really cool for the nostalgia but Stadium was a dump, we sat in the bleachers and I remember pipes leaking all over when we'd go to use the bathroom.

Shea Stadium- about the same as Yankee Stadium, cool for the history, not so much fun for a game.

Turner Field- saw the Cubs play there in the Soriano. I don't remember the Stadium being very impressive but the Hank Aaron spot and the outline of the old Fulton County Stadium was cool to see pre-game.

Riverfront
Metrodome
Yankee

Rangers old park is still technically there, so I don't think that counts

*Adding photo of me outside of Riverfront as a little guy

Comisky. Mile High. Eventhough it still stands , The Ballpark (Arlington). What waste of a gorgeous stadium just sitting there not being used. I'm guessing they're going to tear it down.

I'll just name all the old venues I've been to:

Candlestick Park (baseball)
Milwaukee County Stadium (baseball)
Johnny Rosenblatt (Omaha Royals)

Metrodome (football)
Jack Murphy Stadium (football)
Soldier Field (before the horrific renovation)

Any old timers wanna talk about the good ol' days of Clyde Williams? :prohm:

Shea Stadium and Citi Field (Mets)
PNC Park (Pirates)
Camden Yards (Orioles)
Nationals Park (Nationals)
Wrigley Field (Cubs)
Busch Stadium (Cardinals)
Miller Park (Brewers)
Comerica Park (Tigers)
Metrodome and Target Field (Twins)
Comiskey Park (White Sox)
Also the Rangers’ previous stadium, whatever it was called.
