LOST: Everybody Loves Hugo

It's ok...you wont be there long ;)

Ok ok, I iced them down. I think Ill be fine. Thats a good analysis. Will be interested to see how close he is. He did some research on the bible stuff. I forgot about most of that.

Deace may be right, but LOST has used elements of many religions, not just Christianity. I don't think the island will turn out to be anything the viewer can reference in their bible, or any historical book for that matter.

Very well could be. I just hope we get enough answers to compare :)

Christian will be interesting. So the whispers/ghosts are people who did bad stuff on the island, does that mean he did something bad there? Was Christian really the man in black in disguise? Why was Christians body never found ( I guess its a big jungle and all so that might not have to be explained).

Also, if the man in black can take any form, why did he need Lockes body? Did he only need it to get off the island? I wonder if Desmond trying to kill Locke in the sideways timeline will knock Lockes consciousness back into his body on the island, forcing MIB out.

I don't think that Christian could have been MIB at all since he was seen off the island. **In Jack's office... (We have been told that MiB can't get off the island/hasn't been off for a long time.) Can Jacob turn into a "smoke monster" as well? This has been something that I have wondered about.

Christian's body is still missing in the alt. timeline too, so I'm guessing we have to get some sort of info regarding him before it's all over.

Yes, the whispers are people who didn't "pass." Maybe it is all the people who have killed a candidate or something? I know there are only 6 candidates left, but who knows if there were more at the beginning.

And I took Desmond running over Locke as him trying to give Locke a near death experience. Would be interesting to see if Jack ends up being Locke's doctor.

Also, what does everyone think was in the bag that Hurley picked up on the beach?

My guess is that it was black and white rocks... similar to those that were in the pockets of Adam and Eve in the caves. IIRC Hurley even once said, "what if these bodies are actually us."

I think the bag is full of Jacob's ashes after his body burned. I could be wrong though.

The last time we saw those rocks from Adam & Eve, Jack pocketed them. I have never seen anybody else with them since.

Right before Hurley looked in the bag he disagreed with Richard and then after looking in the bag he changed his mind - why?

From what I got from it, he only agreed with Richard as a ploy to blow up The Black Rock, and all the dynamite. Too bad Hurley didn't know about the grenade pile in New Otherton.

Completely forgot about Hurley blowing up the Black Rock - thanks! There is soooo much to remember with everything that is going on and all the actors.

Somewhat related question that has been bothering me for weeks. Maybe this is common knowledge in the LOST-world, but being relatively new to the party, I don't know the answer...

In "Through the Looking Glass", Locke is laying in the pit of decaying Dharma bodies after being shot by Ben. Who appears to tell him to get up....Walt. I suspected after figuring out that MIB take shift shapes that it was simply MIB. But, everyone else he has appeared as was dead when he took their shape. Walt is still alive and doing well off the island. Locke is saved after this encounter and can walk again (after temporarily losing his legs, so to speak).

So, who/what was Walt, and does this have any significance at all at this point?

(My original theory was that perhaps this was when the MIB really took over Locke's body and the real Locke is still dead in the pit...looks less likely now).

Yeah, the whole Walt thing is an interesting question that may not lead anywhere. He was set up to be a very important character in the first season, and then he grew like a foot overnight and they pretty much had to cut his character out of the show because his growth spurt didn't make sense with the timeline. But then, they still had him appear after that like in the time you referenced, and Locke visited him at his school when he got off the island.

It seems like at this point if they brough Walt back in as an important part of the plot it would feel a little contrived since he has been off the show for so long, but who knows. I think we'll see him at least once more in the flash sideways though.

I'm thinking there will be plenty of minor questions left unanswered.

2 things...

1. Does Desmond know that Locke died and is no longer Locke?

2. I see that next weeks episode is titled "The Last Recruit", anyone have any guesses to who this last recruit will be and who he will be recruited by?

One thing that is incorrect in Deace's blog IIRC is that Jacob and the MIB were talking and could not kill each other as it was against the rules. Each of them could be killed but only if they were killed before they spoke, after that they couldn't be killed. It was the same with the ashes scattered around to protect from smoke monster, so instead he hurled something to kill the guy. Who Made The Rules? It seems like the person that made the rules knows how it is all going to turn out and everything is fate, it's going to happen because people will make the decisions they are supposed to even though they have free will. Is this all a cosmic demonstration of the power of the one that made the rules?

Secondly, it was interesting the Hurley was able to build up the chicken franchise without winning the lottery in the sideways flash as he had never been in the mental institution and had not heard the winning numbers of the lottery. His dad also wasn't in the flash sideways even though he had money and was famous. he didn't have bad luck in the flash sideways either.

This episode created more questions than it answered in many ways.
