LOST: Everybody Loves Hugo

Will they reveal why he can talk to dead people or his connection with the island? Maybe not, I think his connection could have something to do with the finale.

I am more interested in Desmond than I am with Hurley. With his reintroduction last week coupled with the limited amount of time left in the show, they will have to keep things moving along. He had that "claimed" smile last week, but I don't think that's the case. The rules don't apply to him, so I don't think Flocke can do very much to Desmond.

I just hope he says "Dude I just lied to a Samuri" again.

I agree...that was a meaty episode...I hope that this week's isn't another set up episode...there are too few left for cotton candy type stuff.

And wouldnt he be the last of the Oceanic Six to not have his 'flash sideways' this year? I know he has appeared in some flash sideways, like Locke's, as a benevolent sort..but nothing focused on him. And Jack's character has been sort of ignored since the Lighthouse episode.

Just thought of something as I pondered this...in both timelines, Sayid's character has turned to darkness...on the island, we know...of the island, he 're-embraced' his violent past, even if for altruistic reasons this time.

His choices will probably be where his fate lies. I dont think anyone can cause him harm but himself. The way he followed Sayid cracks me up. He truly believes in his mission now and nothing bothers him. Flocke is screwed.

Yep, I think we will get a Hurley-centric episode. I wonder if we will continue to see Desmond's actions in the flash sideways, probably through the other characters eyes as he finds them to "show them something."

Not much on Jack or Kate lately... thats fine with me, I like them alright but the other characters are just more interesting.

My prediction: Desmond is having those flashes where he can see the future again (like when he had to keep saving Charlie) and that is his special skill that Whidmore wants to use him for to stay one step ahead of things.

And ever since we saw Libby in the same loony bin as Hurley I've wanted to know why... hopefully we find that out tonight as well.

What if Locke's constant winds up being Jack? And vice versa? These two have been foils for the entire show...perhaps he does wind up in Jack's hospital...Desmond knows Jack is a doctor...Jack has given Locke the offer to give him a second opinion on his back, a consult, but Locke turned it down because he was fine with just behind who he was and living with Al Bundy's wife.

That is what my guess would be on that front...

As for the episode...good stuff...I am sure it will make more sense in a few weeks

The aspect of Flocke asking Desmond 'Why arent you afraid?' is interesting...and then he threw him down a well...

Flocke knows that Desmond is special, and perhaps he knows that Desmond is on to his scheme, and that Desmond has knowledge of what is going on on the island, and off...and that Desmond could prove to be a block for him to get off the island. Flocke is afraid of Desmond, because Desmond is not afraid of him...classic bully stuff.

What is Locke finds his constant in the sideways universe? Does that weaken MiB's ability to inculcate Locke's body on the island?

What of the boy in the jungle? Is that Jacob? Is it a young MiB?

Desmond is alive...and Sayid pays him a visit next week. Sayid seems to begrudgingly follow orders from MiB right now...Sawyer is at his wits end, but will the emergence of Jack cause his flames to flicker higher?

Desmond is manipulating things off the island...I love that. A straight up enlightened power broker.

Interesting that the Candidates chose to follow Hurley...while Richard, Ben and Chang went off together.

Ben's line about wondering when the island will be done with them is a good one...Illyana blowing up, the island being done with her....if she trained her entire life to protect the candidates, how does her blowing up help to accomplish that objective? Will she now be able to communicate with Hurley with a greater understanding of what to do?

I think there was stuff in this episode that does not seem to stand out right now, but will in hindsight.

The final series ender is on May 23rd, a Sunday...two hours...the 'pregame' show, a recap with the text, has been extended to two hours...and Jimmy Kimmel will have a special one hour show on after the local news that night, called: Lost: After the Final Rose

So Desmond is playing matchmaker, and getting everyone together. Next week John Locke will meet up with Jack... again, in the hospital. Very happy to see them finally inter-mingling the episodes between "tribes".

thankfully illyana is gone. She shouldve bit the bullet a long time ago, about the same time as Caesar.

Beautiful episode! Illana exploding was hilarious. I have been wondering what would happen if Desmond ever turns the donkey wheel. Guess we will find out soon enough. No way is he dead. Loved Locke getting run over.

And a huge answer tonight: The whispers.

If that's the last of the Ilana I'll be disappointed... what a waste of a storyline.

And that look between Jack and Flocke right at the end was super creepy.

What of the boy in the jungle? Is that Jacob? Is it a young MiB?

My girlfriend had an awesome theory tonight. If the boy in the jungle is actually Jacob, what if MiB has a time limit to get off the island. As soon as Jacob ages back to his former self, MiB will be trapped on the island again. Seems pretty reasonable, and not outside the realm of possibility.

I though Illana's death was pretty out of the blue and almost unneccessary, and I find the group's reaction to it kind of strange. In season 1 when Arzt blew himself up with the dynamite, the reaction was priceless and realistic. (And not only that, but it was darkly gratifying because Arzt was quickly grating on our nerves and his dialogue was so intentionally funny/annoying.)

However, Illana blows up and it's like no one cares. Illana had been pretty annoying up to this point, but it was clear that there was a history there to be unearthed. Not only that, but they JUST made us sympathize with her character a little when she decided not to kill Ben and accept him.

The whispers were pretty much what I thought they were. If you listened to transcripts of the whispers from the earlier seasons, they were always spoken as if they were unseen viewers of the events that unfolded. I think that there's more to them than just being "dead people that can't move on". The Others have some special communion with them, as the whispers' presence often preceded the arrival of the Others. We shall see.

And Desmond is definitely not dead. Even without seeing the previews for next week, I knew they wouldn't just kill him off like that. Time to see what's at the bottom of this Well, because according to Flocke there's definitely more than one on the island. (Seeing as the current one is covered up by the Orchids' remains).
