Looks like the Big 12 refs

Complete and total mental breakdown there! Unfortunately, if you officiate any sport long enough, you will probably have one of these.

To continue the theme:

The very first clip in this video...I wonder if anyone will remember this. One of Larry Brown's many losses in Hilton, one of his PGs couldn't hear him yelling from the bench, tucked the ball under his arm, walked over toward the sideline, got his instructions, walked back to his original spot -- all without dribbling once -- and resumed calling a play. All of Hilton went insane. Only three people in the building didn't see it, or just completely spaced off what was happening.

It was one of the rare times when KU came to Hilton in their red jerseys.

OK, I'm going to share an embarrassing story. Was working a basketball game about 15 years ago in northeast Iowa. Home team was winning easily and I admit it -- my mind started to wander. Second of two free throws, shot goes in*, kid grabs the ball and starts up the court without taking the ball out. I realize what he's doing, blow my whistle and say to the kid,"Bro, you gotta take it out."

In unison, the entire crowd yells,"IT DIDN'T GO IN."

As I said, the game wasn't close, and everyone from both sides and even my partners were laughing. I played into it and took a bow. Both coaches laughed and patted me on the back when I went by and I apologized. It was really embarrassing but I'm very glad everyone had a sense of humor about it.

I thought the article would be about attaching retractable leashes to penalty flags so during the KSU-ISU game, they wouldn't have to bend o
