Would not be surprised if Brock stuck around the league for awhile.

Speaking as a Vikings fan, I’ve seen the guys making lots of $ holding the clipboards the past several years get reps during the preseason. Plenty of room for Brock in the NFL.
Hopefully he will get some sponsorships out of this:

I can see him doing decent given that SF is a run-first team. Play action accentuates his game and he could be a nice backup to Trey Lance (or supplant him if Lance is not all he is supposed to be).
Where do you think he would have signed if SF had not drafted him?
Arizona (home and also a QB situation that be decent albeit with a lesser coach/program).
The 49ers writer for the Athletic thought he would make the team on the practice squad. The plan as he heard, was trade Garoppolo, moving up the kid they drafted last year to the starters position, they signed Sudfeld to a 2 million dollar extension as the backup, and then Purdy would take Sudfeld's place on the practice squad.
Guess that all depends upon either trading or releasing Garoppolo to save money.

So hard to tell with all the new head coaching hires in the off season. Arizona would be on that list. KC and some of the guys in the Andy Reid coaching tree would be interesting like Indy.
Until Ariens left Tampa thought might be good as well. The Raiders with Josh McDaniels might be another interesting sport. Carr might have a few good years left.
Haven’t seen any other reactions from Brock’s camp, but this is great.
And that is not a bad situation. Best to be in a team who rosters 2 QBs and not three. Means if there is any injury, you are called up most likely as the backup.
I guess I don't get this. If they are rostering three, you are already called up from day 1 - and making roster salary rather than practice squad salary.

If they roster three, they are more likely to cut a late draftee as they want to have more experience, and if you they would have one on the practice squad, they would not get called up if a short term injury happened to one.
I guess I didn't realize if they rostered three that they would still keep one on the practice squad. I thought in that case they would look for a backup off the open market in the case of catastrophy. Interesting.
You can only be on a teams practice squad for two years so many teams use it as a way see if they want to keep certain players. More an emergency thing. They will get called up for short term injuries as backups but if they think they need a player to play a lot, they will FA look.
I get how the practice squad works, I just thought that a team that rosters 3 QBs wouldn't generally have one on the practice squad while a team that rosters 2 is more likely to have a practice squad signal caller. That would make 3 QBs either way. If that isn't what teams generally do, okay.
NFL teams are only allowed 53 on the active roster, so you have your starter and the backup on the 53, then stash a younger QB that you think may at least be able to be a backup down the road on the practice squad. As others have said, they can only remain there for 2 years and any other team can sign them at any time, but if they do, the new team must put them on their active 53 man roster.
SF is a good place for Purdy, they thought enough of his talent to draft him late, so he at least will get his shot to impress them enough to keep him around.

I'm a Bears fan, but I hope to god he never ends up there. Need to clear house (GM, coaches, and ownership) .
