Looking Ahead to Mizzou

This is going to be a hell of a dual with a lot of toss-ups. Don't love how we match up with Mizzou, but I have no doubt that our team will compete hard.

ISU Favored: 184
Mizzou Favored: 125, 141, 157, 174
Toss Ups: 133, 149, 165, 197, Hwt

We are going to need bonus points out of Marcus, and hope we don't give up any bonus at 125, 157, or 174. I am hopeful we can steal 141 with how Casey has turned the corner. Then we need to win 3 of the 5 toss-ups. Below is my order of confidence for winning the toss-up matches (most confident to least confident):

133
149
197
Hwt
165

Official prediction:
125- MIZ Dec 0-3
133- ISU Dec 3-3
141- MIZ Dec 3-6
149- ISU Dec 6-6
157- MIZ MDec 6-10
165- MIZ Dec 6-13
174- MIZ Dec 6-16
184- ISU MDec 10-16
197- ISU Dec 13-16
Hwt- ISU Dec 16-16

Likely have my cardinal and gold glasses on with that prediction at Sammy has never beat Elam, Mauller is a tough matchup for Paniro, and we could easily give up bonus at 174. But, I am confident in the team right now and think we can get this on criteria (especially if Marcus opens up on Hawkes
I think he said a late February wrestle-off with Fuessley so I would be shocked if it’s anyone other than Fuessley or Perryman.

Hoping Fuessley because if Perryman gassed like he did at UNI Surtin is good enough to make him pay, unlike Gollhofer.
Can we stop calling out Perryman for the UNI? First in-state dual in front of 5k fans and you think he gassed. That was a true freshman not managing his nerves, etc. which was understandable given the situation. I would have no problems them putting him out there tomorrow if they feel he matches up better with Surtin. If he gets an opportunity I expect him to perform much better.

Why? Why wouldnt we expect nerves to get him again?

I agree, we don’t write him off for the UNI performance, but the scenario will be similar on Wednesday. 5 days later we think he’s figured out how to handle those nerves?

Not blaming him, tough situation. I’m high Perryman and think he’ll be the guy at 125 next year.

Not sure how it would get that much better 5 days later against a wrestler that TF’d Gollhofer. I assume tomorrows environment will be intense as well.

If you have ever wrestled in college you would know the answer to that…several great wrestlers lost there first big or home meet. Ask Lincoln Mcilravy. It’s not just nerves it’s everything that goes with it the first time.

You’re right. Silly me not expecting Perryman to immediately turn things around like Lincoln Mcilravy or Mark Hall.

It’s not about figuring anything out as much as going through the experience and learning from it. Some do and some don’t learn but I expect Perryman to be the former.

You can add about 1,000 more names but go ahead and stop at 2.

BTW - I assume CRTC is a $100 richer this week.

Pretty sure the bet was never agreed to.

Pretty sure you can’t just add conditions to the bet and consider it agreed to. @cywr89
Since Coleman didn’t win there should be no problem. You are really going to hide behind a technicality to get out of supporting CRTC. Not surprising as your true character is shining through.

You are proving them correct in all respects.
So, @cywr89 never agreed to the terms I laid out, why should I pay up. That’s not how betting works. I offered terms and they weren’t agreed to. I wasn’t betting myself.

If @cywr89 wants to agree to those terms I’ll make the same bet for Big 12s with double the stakes.

If it’s 4 or less I’ll do $200 and if it’s 6 or more you do? If it’s a push at 5 we each do 100?

@cywr89 do we have an actual bet this time?

I tried to make a positive out of you disrespecting a great kid & wrestler and now you want to double down on your arrogance and continue to hate on the kid. I already financially support the team but obviously you don’t and probably won’t. To each their own.

Fool me once shame on you; fool me twice shame on me.
