Yes, but there's a line every yard. You may not be able to get exact top.speed, but really close. Again, the biggest issue would be if he was running at much of an angle.to the lines it would screw it up. Otherwise, it's not hard.

A little late to the party but....FIFY

Exactly. If the distance between City A and City B is 60 miles, and a car took 60 minutes to travel that, doesn't mean the top speed the car reached on that trip was 60 mph

True, but it does mean the car was traveling at least 60 mph once. #MVT

Usain Bolt set the WR at 27.8 MPH

Which makes it hard for me to believe any of these numbers thrown around. The fastest man in recorded history runs at a top speed of 27.8 mph, and someone is trying to tell me a football player in football pads carrying a football ran at 24 or 26 mph? Yeah, ok, whatever y'all want to believe.....

I thought it was 22 mph? That's believable. I have no idea why CPR brought it up but it's at least believable.

I know the NFL guys all wear data collecting chips on their pads, don't most of the college players now as well?

Last summer Yancy made a comment at the Gridiron Golf outing, that our top players would be wearing them. I would think most of our guys are wearing them by now.

Could we attach this chip to an airplane and see how fast it can go on a treadmill?

It might not seem like it but 6mph is significant. If you have 2 people running for 4 secs one runs 22mph and the other 28mph, the person running 28mph would be approximately 11yds ahead of the person who ran 22mph.
