Liberty Bowl

Win the MAC, your reward? Orange bowl.

Win the CUSA, your reward? 9th place big 12 team.

Interesting.

Liberty Bowl >>>>>>>>>>>>> shreveport.

The Iowa State Cyclones vs. The Tulsa Golden Showers, Round 2.

We're playing Tulsa three times in a year? With respect, that's dumb. Tulsa fans have to think so too...

At least Tulsa's defense blows. It gives our offense a chance to gain some confidence going into next year.

Should be a shoot out.

Nothing against Tulsa as they are a very good team, but this sucks. Would have rather played someone the team hasn't played already.

I love how people act so entitled. We are a 6-6 team and finished 9/10 in the Big 12. With all that considered, Memphis is not a bad option.

We get to beat the same team 3 times in 13 months, that's how we should be thinking, Tulsa should not beat Iowa State ever if we are truly improving, beating teams like this consistently is required if we are going to compete for winning conference records. Beats the heck out of a home game for a good LA school that thinks Shreveport is a cool place to visit. That game had Boise written all over it.

Has Tulsa lost any players to injury over the year?

Obviously we lost Knott.

New Year's Eve... 2:30... sucks. Want a party day of it's own. Does nothing for local economy... beer sales wont be increased... just another day.

I like Tulsa. I've followed and cheered for them all year. But I don't want to play them again. ISU gets nothing out of it. If we win, then we prove nothing, because we already beat them. If we lose, then we add another loss and it undermines one of our wins. Liberty is a good bowl and Tulsa is a good team, but this stinks.

I've always been a supporter of deserving non-BCS teams getting into the BCS games, but NIU is no BSU, TCU, Utah, etc. NIU did not play sufficient non-conference talent to deserve it, unless they had run the table.

Yes....they're a team that we haven't played this season and won't be playing in the second game of next season.

So you'd rather play in a much worse bowl against a much worse team ONLY because you don't want to play Tulsa again? Got it.

It's not Memphis or Liberty that's the problem. It's Tulsa. We played them to start the season, now we're playing them to end the season, and then we play them to start next season. Stupid matchup for a bowl. Marketing people are asleep at the wheel on this one.

history says its difficult to beat the same team twice in one year

kinda makes me a little uneasy
