According to 24/7, he was a 3 star and his only other scholarship offer was Miami of OH.

But I think that still shows that Campbell & CO can find the good ones regardless. Obviously he saw something in Montie that no other D1 school did.

Our class is currently 35th overall with a few 2-Star commits - far-surpassing what Rhonds was bringing in. WVU currently only has 6 commits so far for 2019.

Looking at class rankings this early in the class doesn't really make sense since some teams have many more commits than others, causing some classes full of 2-3 stars to rank much higher than they will finish! See: Minnesota and then scroll way down to find USC! It will even out by February.

This class will most likely finish in the 50-60 range when all is said and done, just as each of Campbell’s classes have. We will succeed with guys who want to be here, bring a winning approach and work hard. We’ll never out recruit the big boys.

There's a difference between taking who is left over and taking guys you think you can mold. CPR was the first and we assume CMC is the second. Until we have a reason to doubt CMC we should respect his eye for under-the-radar guys.

Very odd that the 2 services would have such different offers listed.

Guess who else didn't have many offers that this staff landed.... David Montgomery. 2 star with offers from Illinois, Ball State, Buffalo, and Marshall.

This staff does a great job of scouting and recognizing diamonds in the rough, and that's what you need. I'm not worried at all about these latest commitments. If CMC wants them, then so do I. I have no reason to doubt him yet.

The amount of guys Rhoads recruited that never played a single down at ISU was astronomical.

He was a victim of his own quote (somebody else will have to post it because I don't remember exactly how it went).
