LET'S GO STATE CHANT...

I was up high and it was pretty loud. Of course, I actually had people around me. Last season there were many big 12 games where I didn't have other fans around for 2 rows...I liked this much better.

Those that say Hilton was louder 'back in the day' still around?

Can't imagine ever got much louder than that.

Clearly it's hard to determine what was truly the loudest day. I was watching on TV in Dallas and new that it was rockin'. December of 87 when Lafester went off for 54 points against Iowa and the game in around '92 against Okie State are top 5. When an 82% free throw shoot misses two in a row because the floor is shaking and the hoop is swayin' --- you know it's loud.

Great win and great job by all in attendance for making Hilton the greatest atmosphere in college hoops once again!!!!!!!!!

Maybe we just got better equipment, like when we put in the indestructable goalposts.

You can't compare a youtube video with a WMA file (where the sound is so low I can't even hear anything).

I don't know what the loudest Let's Go State or I-S-U chant was, I can only share the best one I have ever heard....

It was at Hilton South!

After ISU won the last Big 8 championship ever.

The tunnels on the way out after that game will live in my mind forever. Started that game in the upper deck and about half time my Dad and I moved down to some better seats to watch the second half.

If you want to know what it feels like to experience it, go next weekend and give it a try, you won't be alone!!

This is how I picture those posters who just have to pop in and say "Not as good as it used to be" on every single Hilton crowd thread:

Here's the same method to capture the volume of the old Hilton game for possibly a more accurate comparison. Gonna have to turn it up.

It's still apples to oranges. You can't compare them this way. There's a 20 year difference in the equipment used in each broadcast.

Remember when you said it wasn't as loud at the top of the arena as maybe it was on the floor? Same type of comparison, crappy.

That sounds really quiet. As in waaaaaaaaaay quieter than it actually was in the lower bowl.

I was at both games and the Baylor game was louder and a better environment.

Come on guys really? Being in the student section it was REALLY loud last night. Hilton was packed to the brim and was loud. What more do you want?
