Royce is a true talent. Otherwise, the rest of our transfers were average at best or role players on their former teams. Throw in the fact that we don't have a PG and coaching is still a question mark, all this NCAA tourney run talk was completely premature. Not going to happen.

Too early to give up on Chris Allen IMO.

Babb is pretty solid. Booker is about as good as advertised.

Royce = what most expected
Babb = about what was expected, maybe even a little better
Allen = hurt, can't judge yet
Booker = What was expected

Two big problems with this team:
1. No point guard
2. Why the **** do we slow down so much on offense?

First thread I am posting in tonight just to say:

Allen was a complete liability tonight. He was AWFUL in shot selection. I thought he was suppose to be a big time scorer! He was terrible. Ejim also played like absolute dog ****. I seriously question if Allen should touch the ball again until he proves to CFH that he even knows the diffence between a "good" shot and a "bad" shot, much less can make a "good" shot.

Also, why are we soooooooo bad at free throws this year? Did we just stop practising that part of the game? Hoiberg basically taught our entire team to shoot awesome free throws last year and now we are terrible at it. What gives?

Not to be all negative: Babb seems better than I thought he would be. Booker seems much like advertised. Just so-so.

This is about right. It's too early to judge, but I do have a couple of concerns:

I worry that Fred just doesn't care about D. Maybe it's the NBA influence.

I also hope that he does recruit more size.

Next year will be a much better indicator with a true PG because frankly, I don't think you can put much stock into our O without one. Also, our PG situation caused big problems on D tonight. Basically we are minus a 1 and a 5. You can probably get by without one of those, but not both.

+1000.

Chris Allen needs to run the point. Scotty needs to be the SG. Babb and Ejim need to be the 3/4 guys and Royce needs to be what he is. In other words, Allen and Scotty need to switch roles. Scotty has no business running the point. He is an average ball handler and is a bad passer.

I agree completely with everything except the not going to happen part. Still too early for that and you never know if this team catches fire all of the sudden.

The exhibition and Lehigh game showed us we were not super duper. Tonight sealed it. We are looking better to full court press and use ten people than this we do not have a plan point guard junk.

Royce will soon be double teamed in the Big 12 and then he will have to pass some.

We just look toooooo slllllooooowwwww.

Sure he might not take too many shiots from threeland? I want to see more Booker. Use him more.

Allen had an off night. When he first became part of the program, I thought for sure when DG left, he would be the point. He was really good at MSU when he ran the point.
