Hiring competence would be hiring Sean Snyder. He'd work himself to death to rebuild that program, just like Dad. And you'd never have ethical issues.A Snyder in KU colors would be a good storyline.

Covid year financials make letting Les go even harder. K-State's revenue will be down $25 million reportedly. It will be that or more at Ku.
They need to focus on hiring competence over flash, which hasn't worked with Miles and those who preceded him. Someone like Willie Fritz or Skip Holtz.
Kansas was hoping for more. But they ended up with Les.![]()
Ku could more than double Fritz's $1.2 million salary at Tulane. And 60-years of age may seem old to some, but he's actually in his prime right now. Ten years left at least. Plus, he's a Kansan.
So you think they'll get better?KU football was already a dumpster fire but with Les now gone they are really screwed. Im putting the over/under win total for the next 5 years at 12.5.
So you think they'll get better?
They've won 12 games in the past 7 years
I think they will be willing to shell out some serious money to get 2 guranteed wins a year so that only leaves 3 more wins to get the over. Crap now that I think about it more I would take the under too.So you think they'll get better?

"In hindsight, we should have just ponied up 12 years ago and paid Nick Saban $10 million a year and we'd financially be ahead" LOLHow many coaches are they paying to not coach at KU now - or did they finally pay some of them off?
Like Texas, there are structural issues at Ku. A 1960's venue. No recent tradition. Always second-fiddle to basketball with fans and donors. An established program down the road. This is anything but a slam dunk.
Yeah...for sure....if they took it seriously, could be a great place...stadium on campus, etc...but that stadium would need A LOT. But, again, would take a lot of planning over a few years....and it's wild, because they are getting the same Big 12 money the rest of us are, so should be making better progress.
Agreed, exactly the point I was about to make. Look at that Taj Mahal they built for their basketball players to live in while their football facilities crumble. It is a fricken $12M dorm for about 30 people. They haven't spent a ton on football because there's been no results. There's no results because they haven't invested enough into facilities.
Basketball they are willing to throw money at, and for good reason. (Even if they do cheat)
They removed the track around the football field finally, but I have no idea what else they've done for football facilities.
They built a football training facility for Mangino. And last year, Ku completed a ******-looking indoor practice facility.
