Community gives sweet surprise after thief steals from kids' lemonade stand

While two kids were hosting a lemonade stand in Ames this week, a thief stole all their tip jar. Community members and law enforcement agencies were quick to respond.

Not sure if you guys have seen this on the news today / tonight but some family friends’ kids of ours had a lemonade stand set up to get tips for donation to shop with a cop ...until a lady came up and stole their tip jar! The local Ames community has came through huge since last night and so I encourage all to read the story and if you feel inclined to do so, donate to their Venmo that is over $2,000 for the local shop with a cop cause.

VENMO update: we’ve raised $1059.40 for Shop with a Cop so far! The lemonade stand tips have to be counted yet! THIS COMMUNITY IS AMAZING!!

This has become something so much bigger than us! We’ve processed so many emotions in the last 24 hours. The kids are so excited to give back!
They are opening their lemonade stand back up today. Free lemonade for all! If you choose to leave a tip, we are donating all of it to Shop with a Cop!
A couple of news stations are stopping by starting at 1:30. Come join us as we support our community and allow this lemonade stand to impact so many more!
