Yet you still participated.

I agree with what people are saying. It's hard to compare given the changes in the NBA, officiating, etc. The same type of question was brought up regarding past and current NFL players. I believe it was Walter Payton and AP.

Don't get me wrong, LeBron is a fantastic player, but he doesn't have the mental edge (heck....no one does/did) that Jordan had and thus I think that advantage would also transfer over to a one-on-one matchup.

Jordan didn't win his first championship until 28 or so, right? I think early in his career, LeBron disappeared for sure; lately, that isn't he case. I think the real comparison will be possible when LeBron retires. Jordan did most of his damage in his late 20's and 30's.

Yep, and at one point in his career Jordan was regarded as a soft, ball hog who couldn't win the big games. Six titles later and you never hear that mentioned again, and rightfully so. That was what was so silly about people writing the "LeBron isn't clutch" narrative when he was still in his 20's. Two titles and two Finals MVP's later, that talk has pretty much gone away.
 
One on One, I'd probably take Jordan. Having the chance to spend a day with a player? Lebron hands down.
 
It would be an interesting match-up for sure. Jordan probably a better shooter, but LeBron would definitely have a size advantage without, imo, giving up much of a speed & quickness advantage.

Really, this is a debate you can't reasonably have for probably another 10 years once LeBron's full legacy is established. Half a career is always going to look bad compared to a full career.

Gone away? They were just playing a Dan Patrick rerun over the holidays and the discussions was how LeBron didn't show up in the game the night before. It was either playoff or finals last year.

It has only gone away...since last post season.

If you transplanted rookie MJ into 2003 and made him play in this sports climate he'd constantly get picked apart as well. Maybe not for the same reasons, but he wouldn't be the untouchable icon he gets to enjoy being now.
 
1-on-1 Lebron wins. He has to have 70 pounds on Jordan. I've read somewhere that they did a kind of 1-on-1 All Star Showdown a ways back and the biggest guys dominated by just backing down near the hoop.
