The only way he caught that is if it was a slight bobble. His grip is on the tail end of the ball and I think that's pretty impossible when its coming at him from where Sam threw it. Now, catching it at the front end or the middle, yeah, I can see that happening, but the back...?

Reverse the image when looking in the screen of the phone it is like looking in the mirror making it easier to use that image to make the catch. I guess.
