Laptop Purchasing Help

I used to be one of the "mac haters" but ever since I had to get one for design I'm sold. It's fast as crap and hasn't had a single problem. I can literally open up every program at the same time and it won't slow down.

I am an Apple hater and my laptop has never had an issue and probably could perform just as good as your mac, if not faster.

Apple is good.
HP is good.
Dell is good.

There all decent laptops and someone somewhere has had issues with them at one time or another.

I almost put this diclaimer in my previous post, but i knew one of you Apple haters would point that out.

Since more people buy non-apple laptops, and a high % of those said PC users are always having problems, it just supports my theory that the average PC user is either poor or stupid, quite possibly a combonation of both.

I'm not an Apple hater (I own one), but facts are facts; only fools deny them.

And you wonder why so many people hate Apple users. Way to be a total arsehole. Bravo.

What type of computer do you have?

In before the apple fanboys hijack the thread by talking about how their computers are amazing and PC users are stupid.

There's a fine line between sarcasm and being an arse. If that line ran straight through Ames, you would currently be somewhere near Kashmir...

I wish i was clever enough to use "arse" to get by the filters. Kudos to you. You know, for being smart.

What? You work on a PC AT work? Because you were provided a work computer? What about it?

I work independently, which means in order to do my job, I needed a system the flawlessly runs ArcMap, GIS, and a ton of other mapping equipment software. This is not something I'd use a Mac for, for a couple of reasons. The first reason is I learned the stuff on a PC, so it makes sense to stick with my training. The second reason is ArcMap for Mac was so flawed in the past, I don't even know if they have tried a new version. If Apple does have supposedly better tools, I don't care, for what I use now gets results. So in my office I have 3 monitors, a tower, a fan, and tens of thousands worth of software & equipment.

You seem pretty uptight for a Star Wars fan.

I just want to point out that people keep referring to "Windows" based computer's as PC's when in fact all computers are PC's aka personal computers.

And yes... this is my way of trying to start another tangent on this thread.
