Kum & Go Beer

I received word today that Kum & Go will be launching their own line of beer in 2 weeks.

I am sure that it will prove to be popular and provide lots of laughs at tailgates this fall.

Kum & Go is already producing their own line of energy drinks.

In a related story, Budweiser is coming out with its own line of gasoline. Drinking it is not recommended, despite the fact it will taste a lot like Kum & Go Beer.

I decided to pull the trigger on a 12pk of the Kum&Go light. When I first opened the can it smelled a little different(probably me being anal) but once I took a swig it tasted fine. No worse than Natty light. To be honest I see very little difference when it comes to beer like Natty light, Bud light, Miller lite, etc. Only when you move up to good beers like Sam Adams do I really notice.

True story. I don't really see the point in ever drinking Bud Light, Miller Light, or Coors.

When I want to drink light beer, I generally go as cheap as possible, because it's all swill. Bring on the Old Mil, Busch Light and Natty Light! It's $5/case cheaper and no worse than Bud Light, etc.

I'm with ya Al. When I go cheap it is the 30 pack of Keystone Light. Otherwise it is a great pale ale.

dirty 30 is the only way to go tailgating. Plus everyone else always buys busch light, so you don't have people mooching off your stash.

Very True. I also enjoy getting the other "dirty thirty", Miller High Life Light, which has the same benefit, plus is impossible to see while drinking in the stands due to it's slick urban camo can design.

I'm bringing some Natty Lite to ward off the vultures. Someone always ends taking beer out of my cooler (usually one of my girlfriends ***** beers) without asking.

I'm just going to set a cooler out that says "Community Brew" or something like that.

I just bought a 12 pack to try it out, we'll see how it goes

they must be saving some costs in the cardboard box container; the thing almost completely fell apart on me carrying it to the counter... the other boxes all had scotch tape holding the flaps down

What flavor did you get? I like that they put the alcohol percentage right on the box.

Thanks for giving it a try; that's really all we can ask for. I appreciate your candid feedback too.

How awesome is this, being a Social Media Manager for a company named Kum and Go!

In all seriousness, it is pretty awesome. I'd have never guessed going through the College of Business that this is what I'd be doing three years after graduation.

Please keep me in the loop. I'll be anxious to hear your take. As for the boxes, I'm not sure what the problem is there. I'll do some follow up with our team to find out if others have been having problems.

I got a 12 pack of the light last night for $6.99 and it wasn't half bad. Definitely better than I thought it would be since it's made by Minhas. It'll probably end up being a pretty good choice for tailgating/canoeing. I'd recommend that you guys also give it a shot.

Are there any plans to put it in cases? I'd buy plenty for tailgaiting if it was like $10.99

Finally broke down tonight and tested the Hiland Light. I too paid $6.99 for a twelve. They do offer it for $9.99 for a twenty pack. When I took it to the counter I told the lady I was giving it the maiden voyage and she tried to talk me into buying a single can to make sure I liked it. She kind of gave me that bitter beer face which worried me a bit out of the chute but I have a steel tank and live by the philosophy that there are only two types of beer - warm and cold and I like them both.
I opened the can and gave it the sniff test which it passed and proceeded to pour it into a glass. It looks like any other light beer and had adequate head so past the gums it went. My first impression was positive. No aftertaste and a seemingly smooth introduction. I drank the first one rather quickly and went to the fridge for more. I admittedly drank the first six in about ninety minutes because thats what cheap beer consumers do. I did manage to save the next six for tomorrow and finished off my night with a few odds and ends from the fridge(Busch Light Etc). I had no problem with the switch to another brand(Unlike the switch from Miller Lite to Coors). I also approve of the 97 calories and 4.0 carbs per serving.
I was going to start the tailgate off tomorrow with an oil can but have changed the plan to start with the remaining six Hiland Lights. Will I buy it again? Probably. It honestly is as good as any other cheapies I drink. It did not taste similar to the Clear Creek(which I feared) so I will add it to my list of approved quantity brews. Good Job Kum and Go. You did pay attention to taste as well as price. The cans have an old school look and feel too. If anyone is contemplating saving a few bucks and buying this brew for the game tomorrow I give it Two Fat Thumbs Up.

I drank several on Sunday and actually thought it to be as good as Busch Light or Bud Light. I'm a Miller Lite guy, but had no issues making the switch that night. Regarding the K&G name, I see the new one on 1st Ave exit in Ankeny now sells all sorts of K&G merchandise. Can you imagine how many people that stop to take pictures of the signs and stuff are buying anything with that name?
