KU @ ISU on CBS

Old school! I feel like CBS used to carry a lot of our games back in the day before ESPN took over more of the sports programming. I'm old enough to remember Billy Packer calling the very last Big 8 Conference Tournament Championship game against KU back in 1996.
I remember that game, one for the ages. In St Louis with a friend. Went to a bar, had a couple of other Clone fans and a few Jay hawk fans. A pretty enjoyable day!

Remember the game very well was in kemper arena yelling my ass off and watching the chicken hawks just stunned

Most exciting voice in announcing.
I always loved Gary Thorne's calls, especially when he was doing hockey on ESPN. That Clement/Thorne duo has always been my favorite pairing, regardless of sport.

Harlan is the best though. If only he could call every game I watched.

You might have watched on a CBS affiliate, but it most likely wasn't a "CBS" game.

ISU has only had 3 regular-season games on CBS (4 counting this weekend) since the Big 12 formed in 96-97 -- all of them home games against KU, in '97, '99, and '01.

So far this year, I've picked up Disney + with ESPN, HULU, Sling orange & blue + sports package & now this upcoming game is on CBS. Since I live in Florida, I'm wondering if this means I will have to get Paramount tv as well? I just wanna watch my Cyclones play, so frustratiing the way every game is played on a different platform.

I think this is on national CBS can you get OTA channels?

I have cable, not sure about over the air tv. I don't have an antenna. I could probably go to a sports bar, spend money on drinks & food or just get Paramount + on top of all the other channels I already have. Big 12/ESPN or whoever, is making it very difficult for fans to follow their teams.

You don't need anything other than the linear ESPN networks and ESPN+. Does Sling not carry local channels?

I don’t believe they do. I think that’s why sling is enticing to some because you can antenna the local CBS,Fox,ABC and then Ala carte the espns fs1’s. I could also be very wrong about that as I’ve only ever used YouTube Tv when I moved to streaming.

For our friend @Mel4ISU could you sign up for a free trial of Paramount+? Or maybe sign up until March madness (we could be on CBS again). Or cancel after the game? Would be cheaper than going to bar and spending on food and drinks.
