Meh, they got a whole bench full of bruisers to stick in the game.
Now, a whole bunch of them will get owned by a maestro like Georges, but still.

The guy crying about Fran and Moose was hilarious. At one point when they went on another Wiggins lovefest of his plays, I was threatening to mute them and turn on John Walters.

You couldn't watch a matchup this year with better star players than Wiggins, injured Embiid still talked about, Ejim, Kane and Niang. Plus Ellis was playing like an all american. I really think Ellis is going to be one of those players who was a support player in college and surprises people with a crazy long and productive NBA career.

Lol I couldn't take them seriously when they said Hoiberg wasn't a great coach because we finished tied for 3rd with two first team All XII players... Dude, KU couldn't run the table and go undefeated with the first two picks in the NBA draft.. Get a grip losers, the XII is damn good...

Musburger can creep with the best of them though:

If this story gets legs it could really help ISU's most negative stereotype...if it had unknowingly been Paige Hoiberg I'm sure it would have blown up to be a national story ;-)

Ok, I admit, I too was doing a little "Musburger" when I saw those ladies

I think my favorite part of those threads are the KU fans complaining that ISU had the advantage because KU was down a "lottery pick". They still were playing with one more than ISU had! Embiid definitely would've made a big difference, but them acting like they were at a disadvantage raw talent-wise is laughable.

If ISU was missing their second best player on the team, what would the result of the game have been? Probably different? Kane seemed to have had a bit of an impact on this game, don;'t you think? What would have happened if he wasn't out there while Embiid was?

I don't think it's at all unreasonable to assume that having Embiid, who was HUGE in both match ups with ISU in the regular season, might have affected the outcome of the game in some manner. I am not saying KU would have won, but the game would have played out differently. So IO don't think their post is "laughable".

You play with the guys you have available and ISU was the better team on the floor last night. Crying over "what-ifs" isn't something I choose to do. We have capable bench players. This is just the worst defensive team in the Bill Self era and they had their worst night missing their best defender. Most points allowed in regulation by a Bill Self coached Kansas team EVER. I wish we had an extra scholly open for next year sop we could recruit a PG over the top of Tharpe. I have never seen a guard that sucks as bad as him on defense. Totally clueless.

Love the fan who wants ku to hire Fred if self leaves for the nba.

No bigger compliment than that.

He'll have to show that he can recruit at a higher level than he does right now but his in-game coaching on offense is excellent. I don't see much from him as a defensive coach yet but that will improve over time. Hopefully KU won't have to worry about that for a long time and I fully expect Danny Manning to be our next coach when that time comes.

FIFY.

If Hoiberg ever leaves, it's because the NBA made him an offer he couldn't refuse.

If you don't think that Hoiberg would take the Kansas job if offered then you have lost your mind. Like I said, Manning be be the next coach at Kansas but Hoiberg would take it if offered. Everyone would. There's a reason why we have only had to offer the job to one coach when the position has come open. I cannot remember a single coach ever saying no thanks to the offer.

Ellis lit up against us in one of the games last year, also. He is far and away the player I respect the most on the KU team. He has a "Melvin Ejim" feel about him...a guy that might not be the hyped-up star that many KU fans love, but over all, a guy that will be a rock for them over his career there, and a rock star at times (maybe in his senior year?). He plays hard, he plays pretty darn clean, and he's not a cocky so-and-so.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Go away troll.

Last night was a GREAT win, however, if you don't think it would have been a different game with Embiid in there you are kidding yourself.

Notice I said it would have been a different "game", not necessarily a different "outcome". We won this game by double digits. With Embiid in there, I really think it comes down to the last shot, but I think we could have still pulled it out.
