KRNT Reuniting Marty & Miller

I will not comment on another show but I just want to get this out there. Ken Miller has done a lot for me. He is a good man who I still consider a friend. Back in the day, I had always thought that my first daily break in the market would be next to him, not against him. Just don't want negative comments on here to somehow - to a lurker - represent thoughts of mine.

Ken seems alright and occasionally insightful if you can keep him on topic.

Marty was rather insufferable. I'd say I hope it works out for him but it seems like he has already scammed a lot of perks out of these gigs...always at big events and his whole job is to pontificate for 2 hours about sports...I could never believe how many facts they would have wrong or be uninformed about, and this is their full job!!

I sat next to him at a restaurant downtown a few years ago - one of those times where you cannot not hear the table next to you the whole meal. Finally at the end I looked and thought "where do I know that voice?!", then I realized who it was. I don't know if he is married and it was hard to tell if it was a wife or some paramour, but that experience did not help opinions...

Fortunately for you, Ken is an idiot and left KXNO and a show with Heather to team up (again) with an absolutely disgusting human being that has been exposed over and over again.

That's too bad - no more Gottlieb joygasming during ISU games.

This is my thought exactly! When he abruptly left and we found out it was to team up with Marty again I lost most of the respect I had for him. Says a lot to bail on a new co-host less than a week in to team up again with one of the biggest scumbags there is. At that moment I pretty much wished him nothing but failure by hitching his wagon once again to Marty and his never ending line of scams and negative propaganda.

I still get a good laugh today over the day Marty was telling us all that Jay Norvell would be the next FB coach at ISU and his source was his dentist! Also loved the time when he got called out on air over that mess he had when he took a guy to the masters with him then basically used his radio show to trash the guy only to get called out for being exposed for the scam artist he is. Wonder if he visits his good buddy Steve Luebke in jail who he screwed over too when they built him his own study to broadcast from after he was fired from KXNO. I feel sorry that Ken didn't have the guts to cut ties with him for good and got to be a part of yet another failure involving Marty. Sorry, I probably sound a little obsessed over this but Marty is one of the few human beings on this planet that just disgusts me how people continue to let him con them into what usually turns into financial loss that he mostly gets off the hook for and shows no remorse for it.

Crazy. He had a good gig going at KxNO and abandoned them at first chance to join Marty again. Then said he wanted to retire in 10 years after another stint with Marty.

He must be joining with Trent/Jimmy B?

Interesting. I figured it was just a matter of time before those two were done. So is he jumping on with Jimmy B and TC?
 
Not sure, but wouldn't surprise me if Trent and Jimmy B were replaced.
 
I'm all for local sports radio. Love CW/Ross, but its nice to have something to flip to when they talk Hawks.

I've always given Ken credit as he doesn't like Pollard but will be one of the first to praise the things he's accomplished at ISU.

IMO Miller does a really solid job keeping things neutral. I was really disappointed when he left KXNO to team back up with Marty. I would occasionally flip over to 1700 and listen to those guys but Marty just ruins the show. It's nothing but hawks, hawks, hawks, take a jab at Iowa State, and then more Hawks. The guy just can't get out of his own way.

Hmm, Jimmy B seems to be gone half the time from that show. Wonder if Miller and Brinson are going to do a show again. They were pretty decent together.

Yeah, they were OK. Brinson's enthusiasm and general hokey-ness paired pretty well with Miller's more....um...subdued style. I'd occasionally listen.
 
I think miller is at his best when by himself. Sometimes I just want to hear about sports. I don't want to hear about movies or beer or other crap.

When ken does shows by himself, he just talks sports. So basically, if he has his own show, I'll listen. But if it is with Brunson, I'll probably pass.
