KO and the OL

KO just had a monster game last night. The young guys that we have had to work in have improved dramatically in the last few weeks and let's face they were really struggling 3-4 weeks ago. Great sign for the future as they are gaining experience and confidence. I can't tell you how pumped up I was to see us power rush, phsyically doiminate and run the ball down the throat of a quality opponent.

Agree, KO is just a monster. I don't think there is any end in the conference that can handle him on the run game. We need to just run it up behind him till they stop it. Finally last night we utilized him better which was good to see.
 
With guys like KO and Hicks, our line is built for the run game. Last night just shows what can happen if you game plan to the strength of your personnel.

OLINE had a great night. Gannon and Lichty had good reps also last night. Hope TUFFte is okay. Don't really know what was the injury on him. This is an athletic oline that when the zone read offense is clicking you will see their athleticism shine. We also have younger and more athletic one's in the making with Oni, Lalk and Dagel. Very exciting that Coach Bleil has kept them working hard and believing in an offensive scheme. Coach'em up and let them make plays!!! Go Cyclones!!!!
 
Just watched the game again, it is actually funny watching KO block these guys sometimes, he was just toying with guys out there. Hicks is a really good lineman as well, has been for a long time.


Another guy that is getting a lot better and make a lot of plays last night quietly....Walter Woods on the Dline, he might be a good one down the road.

I thought that was hilarious as well. One of Tech's DE's was all pumped before the play. KO pushes him down. He starts to get back up, and KO just slams him down again. I just started laughing after that.
 
Hopefully KO is finally health and we will see what all the national guys were expecting out of him. It is too bad that the depth and competition have forced CPR to play him instead of letting him heal. Hicks has just gotten better and better as the season has gone on. I will be disappointed if the Clones can't run 350 yards on KU this weekend.

Considering we've ran for 350+ yds twice in the last 15 years, that is probably a high bar to set your disappointment level at. If we rush for 200+ we'll win.
 
I wonder if there were some scouts at the game. That was KO's best game I've seen in a long time. All in all, the line played real smart, not many flaws.
 
Only thing I'd say is that Tech doesn't exactly have the talent along their d-line that Texas, OU and even Missouri have. That said, it was a dominating performance.

Glad to see Gannon put in a solid performance. CPR has said that this year's edition has better depth than he's had here--but that's not saying much, when last season depth didn't go much further than Sean Smith. I've been a bit concerned with who would step in for KO and Hayworth next season, now those worries are somewhat assuaged.
