Know a family that needs some help???

Every year my wife and I try to "adopt" a family at Christmas who is down on their luck.
Last year we were lead to a family with three children and the mom had committed suicide a few months earlier on the son's birthday.
Dad was working multiple jobs and it was really nice to be able to make their Christmas season a little better with some presents.

So, if you have any good candidates of a family with kids who could use a boost this Christmas, please email me some details at [email protected] and my wife and I will try to pick the one who could use it the most.

This probably isn't quite what you had in mind because it comes from the Ames location, but we do something similar with YSS, Inc. It has offices in several mid-Iowa locations, so you don't really know the people for whom you're buying gifts nor do you know their circumstances in life. However when you fill out the form you can indicate whatever you'd like for them to assign a family or individuals to you.
