If kids are only getting like 10-15 minutes of instruction, I’m not sure how they fell behind during Covid. You could easily just watch a video of that.
Our math and science teachers would always work through problems with the kids after introducing a topic. Maybe have kids do some board work or have everyone do the problems to see if they grasped the concept. If they seemed to understand they would assign homework, if not just work on it more until they did. That was always a break, do you have math homework? Nope, half the class doesn’t get the unit circle.
Other courses like history or English lit always involved classroom discussion and Spanish involved lots of speaking Spanish.
I always thought some of our teachers were kind of lazy but at least they weren’t using 60 percent of their class time supervising study hall.
