Keep Coach Greg McDermott

We need a change after another failed season.... I hope our Ath. Dept. is really keeping an eye on potential candidates right now.

we dont have the money to replace him. let the man finish his contract and decide then. if his contract was up this year id say goodbye to him tho.

This is not a good argument in my opinion. If Hilton deteriorates to the point Carver Hawkeye arena has, we have big problems.
Im not saying to keep or fire GMac. I'm saying tons of empty seats costs a lot of money. How much scratch do you think they are losing every home game over there in Iowa city? Lots.
Attendance and fan support will dictate what happens to GMac.

As long as you're making comparisons to Iowa City, they found out that simply hiring a new coach doesn't put butts in the seats, either. May as well be accurate about it--the solution lies elsewhere. Like, in simple good health, for one.

I honestly think that you could give McD KU's team of a couple seasons ago and he would have trouble going .500 in the conference. Seriously.

Let him coach until 2015 and then decide? HAHA!!! I will bet you any amount of money GMAC does not coach until than. Any amount, he will have this program playing NAIA ball before than!

If Hilton starts looking like Carver, GMac will be gone. You can take that one to the bank.

ISU fans, support the players, support the coach and support the program. The wins will come and the wins will come in bunches. I am tired of the negative fan base representing Iowa State on this message board.
For ISU Men’s Basketball, stability at the top will bring success.
For the current ISU players, future players and potential recruits. The negative fans that write negative messages do not represent Iowa State. Please don’t read the negative posts. Keep playing hard and representing Iowa State in a positive manner. The wins will come.

Ahhh, remember the time not THAT long ago when we had a reputable basketball program?

I think too many people ARENT thinking of this thing as a business. It's a business. We're paying a guy over $800,000 per year to do many things, which he's failed at. We've had something like 11 guys leave the program, and 2 more get kicked off (not to count a few others who were thinking of transferring at one point). I was talking to my co worker who went to Purdue..he said under Matt Painter, only one guy has left and it's because he was a cry baby and wanted more minutes. Nobody else has left.

I mean honestly, again, this guy would have been fired two years ago or last year if he was an executive at any respectable company. This is a business..pretty soon fans are going to lose interest, and revenue is going to go down unless something happens.

While next year might be OK, I really can't see much positive in this coaching staff, right now at least.

If we will the wins, they will come? Right...This is a competitive league, the only reason we're being "negative" is because ISU has not been good since 2006-07 and we actually want our program to be GOOD again!
