Remember when Prohm signed Ernst late cause he had the spot and needed a big body? Well, this might be along the same lines, and it would be an upgrade. I don't think anyone expects this kid to come out and light the world on fire after his RS year.

While that is absolutely true, if you have too many role players or garbage men, you're not going to win many games.
Who are all these garbage players on the team?
If Prohm fails to bring in a solid pg and wing for 2017 then I'll start worrying. I like Long, Young, and Lard as a class and am cool with this Kasongo pick up too. I also like that Isaiah Kelly is visiting this week per reports.
Who are all these garbage players on the team?
According to some probably everyone other than Monte and Naz
He also said he was comfortable sitting on the scholarship if they couldn't find a player who will help make us better.
Glad you posted this......looks pretty decent. Somewhat disagree on the McKay comparison. Jameel was very weak, and could not finish in traffic......almost always ended up on the floor when tried to score contested inside. This kid is strong. We will have to see how does against athletic big bodies, but I like the pick up even better after watching this. This guy is big and athletic. I think he is a great add. Older, physically ready post with two years to play. I don't understand the hesitation. Seems like his skill level is similar to McKay (minus the attitude).

Not to be a negative nancy here, but I am just as concerned about Prohm and his staff's recruiting as the rest of you. For those who are confident he will bring in talent here, what makes you feel that way? This staff has as little credibility as any staff I can remember at ISU. William Small was an assistant at an Ohio Valley conference school who has never recruited to a P5 school. Neil Berry was at High Point before this and before that he was an assistant at South Carolina when they were winning 5 games a year. What successful assistant goes from a P5 school to a mid-major? Then we have Danyial Robinson, who was at UIC before ISU. How the hell is he going to bring in All Big 12 talent with his minimal connections? Sorry just ranting here, but there is no excuse for not having a higher caliber staff at one of the Big 12's top bball schools.
We will be considering ISU a football school here in two years IMO

AgreeI guess the point I was trying to make is that we could have plugged him in McKay's spot last year and not missed a beat. Obviously, he is better at some things and weaker at others, but on average he would have a similar impact on our team as McKay did. The key will be to surround him with skilled offensive players similar to what we have now.
Donovan Jackson is a solid PG.
And when he declared Prohm said he likely would have been eligible. Eligibility isn't why he declared, he declared because he's good which also a lot of people didn't want to believe. Everyone here just hopes for the worst.
Just admit you were wrong man. Yeah good enough to not get drafted.
