Kansas doesn't seem like typical kansas this year

I know he gets a nice stat line, but Dickinson changes the way they play and not in a good way imo.
He reminds me a little of Garza. Fancy stats at the end of the game, but completely invisible on one side of the court.

At least today anyway they seemed better than usual on defense but not nearly as lethal as usual on offense.

Holy hell their bench is bad.

Neither Harris or Adams does any spacing for their offense.

That being said they still put up 70+ on our defense.
Self mentioned this after the game. Said he was actually encouraged by the fact that his team was able to put 75 on us in Hilton (that’s 49 in the second half). Which is a fair point.

espn crew laying it on pretty thick about both ku and Houston today. umm there's a team that beat both guys.

Glad we don't have to play KU again. They definitely have that defense figured out.

Seems like we do this thread every year and never learn.
Self is an elite coach and they have top 5 starting talent so we should have expected the team will challenge for the conference title. It'll just be with 5-6 loses rather than the 2-3 they normally have due to their poor bench. the league is too deep for any team including Houston to run away so it'll come down to the final week to see where it ends up.

I went and saw Kansas big man recruit Flory Bidunga play last night. He is Very long and athletic. Not much of an offensive skill set yet. 16 pts, 16 rebounds, 6 blocks. Very different from their center this year. Fun game between two quality teams. Big crowd.

They have zero depth and very few shooters. But their starting 5 is pretty salty. Without Dickinson, they would be the worst KU team I can remember.
Exactly why they spent so much on him last minute, Furphy seems like the real threat from three but they are one injury away from being pretty mediocre.

NIL may be diluting the bench at Blu Blood schools like KU. Why stick around and not be starting when you can make some money, get starters minutes and maybe parlay that into a Pro career down the road.

I think that is a great point.
