Kam White...

We will just have to agree to disagree on this one...I always just find it funny how this kind of talk always comes after a guy decommits...if he would have been there on signing day 90%of the people would have him atleast on the 2 deep already

A lot of people did say stuff like that when he verballed.

One person even mentioned Kam as possibly the biggest commit for ISU in the past 10 years.

Trey Scott posted a thread on 24/7 stating, essentially, what people are saying here. He's a bit of a safety/LB tweener for our defense, but would have likely ended up as a LB, which would have required more weight.
I'm not really even disagreeing with that. If he can't cover well enough and they wanted him to play LB he could be 215-220 by the time the season started...my main point is he would have played as a freshman one way for another. Even at his current size he is bigger than Northrop

I have a hard time believing Kam wouldn't have seen the field one way or another. I think part of the reason Campbell has been so successful recruiting is because he is offering early playing time to these guys.

Just part of the reason is early time [as you said], but spending recruiting dad time with 8-10 Big 5 programs in the past lead me to this opinion: these guys just make you want to be around them and part of their "plan"! Out of those 8-10 schools, I only felt like two or three staffs were sincere, honest, and truly interested in my children as a person, athlete and student. CMC and company was one of them. They impress parents imho.

So basically he shows passion and uses eye contact? ;-P

Isn't Hugh Freeze about to get fired there anyways?

I don't know if I'd want to walk into that, when a program has a pretty significant chance of losing a head coach for not performing, their recruiting has fallen off of late, and there is a chance of NCAA sanctions from the same. Might not be the best situation?

Heck of a way to waste your college career on 2-3 regimes.

Eh, he can transfer to Transfer U later. :P

So I've heard from multiple sources inside the Kam White situation and they told me Kam was not going to qualify academically for Iowa State thus the decommitment. He will either be going to Ole Miss (Not really sure how'd he qualify there but they're Ole Miss so I'm sure they probably just don't care) or go Juco thus why the staff is still recruiting him as he could still end up here in a couple years.

This isn't a huge shock I guess. The program he plays in produces talent like crazy, but seems to educate in a similar fashion to Deion Sanders infamous PrimeTime Academy. Probably the primary reason we were in the conversation from the start.

If we can't make a guy like Kam "eligible" we're not trying hard enough.

I'd venture to guess this has as much to do with the school systems set up down there as it does the students

Did a quick search (for ***** and giggles) about where he's from and this is what I found:

The Clinton Public School District serves an enrollment of approximately 5,000 students in grades pre-K through 12. It is regularly ranked as one of the top public school districts in Mississippi. Schools include Clinton Park Elementary (K-1), Northside Elementary (2–3), Eastside Elementary (4–5), Lovett Elementary (6), Clinton Junior High (7–8), Sumner Hill Junior High (9) and Clinton High School (10–12). Additional schools include the CHS Career Complex, offering college and career readiness courses for grades 10–12, and Clinton Alternative School. Recently the Clinton school districts have given out Macbook Air's to all of their high school students and varying different electronic devices to other grades (all apple products).

All of its tested schools are ranked "A," the highest possible academic rating a Mississippi public school can attain, and the district rating is also "A." Clinton Park Elementary serves grades K-1 and is not rated, since the state test is not administered until third grade.

It's kinda like being the most polished turd, but he's certainly not in a place where a good education is hard to come by.

What are those "sources"? Because I got none of that with mine. There is one recruit that is a big question academically, but Kam was not considered a potential casualty.

A lot of speculation here about a lot of things. I know people mean well, but jeez, some of it comes across as less than charitable. There's a real 18 year kid down there who may even be reading some of this. Hope everything turns out well for him regardless of what he does.

That's fine. The last thing I did during my high school years was try and I passed. Barely, but I did. If I was someone that was a stud athlete and had offers from all over the country, I think I'd be putting in a significant amount of effort. That goes across the board to all high school kids, not just Kam, assuming even that this is accurate info.
