Its really whatever the AD wants to set it at once the actual seating is sold. I thought we stopped selling tickets for the Texas game last year. We hit 56,390 for that... hopefully the AD sells a few hundred more so we can top the actual record at 56,795 that was set before we removed a bunch of seats.

Yeah, i remembered those, as i remember being in those when the band got moved there during big games in the early 00s. Wouldn't be a bad idea to pull those out again. Get as many in as possible.
So on paper it looks like the record could be broken. Now everyone just needs to get there ***** in the seats. Rain or shine!
Would be hilarious if JP stopped selling tickets at 56,796. It was jam-packed for Texas last year... I don't know where 400 more people would go to break the record.
just keep selling them JP. people in the isles, on top of the scoreboard, standing around the field, kick the band out of the NEZ and post them up on the jacobsen balcony. screw it, lets break 60k!
Hillsides sold out last year for the game with Texas. No idea how many hillside tickets are for sale though. My guess is around 12,000.
I know the AD announced the Texas game was sold out a week or two before the game, and I'm 90% sure they did the same for the Iowa game. I remember hearing people in the lots before the start of the UNI game saying the ticket office had stopped selling tickets for it too, but maybe they just meant reserved tickets.
Hopefully the rain doesn't drive away too many people this weekend.
Maybe my memory is just wrong, but I don't think they stopped selling hillsides last year for Texas. I seem to remember them just telling people that they weren't gauranteed a spot to sit on the hillsides, and that they may have to stand along the walkway at the top of hillsides.

My guess is once the rain pattern is known for Saturday that there will be alot selling all of a sudden. I'll be pleasantly surprised if that is not the case. Even with the rain, still will be 50K plus in the stands though.
Saturday is now looking more interesting weather wise. Could have some severe weather ....not just on the field.
