JTS Improvements - Want More

Curious what the latest renderings look like, hope its not stripped down to a strip mall, I think having the mall thing in the middle of the lots with a main street boulevard where the tents are now would be cool

Let's hope for a CyTown webcam. But since The Bridge (it deserves caps) did not have a webcam, it likely became a bigger deal simply because of the lack of one.

I’ve tried to envision where they would have placed a webcam for the bridge project. On top of a concession stand? A light pole along Elwood/University? The upper deck of the stadium?

Not sure there was a good option, and perhaps that’s why we didn’t get one.

Does anyone know if it will be possible to walk around the west side of the stadium, or is that all closed off now?

We're going to be going from a tailgate in B1 (north of Scheman) to a tailgate in S1 (SW corner of the stadium). It's going to be a lot shorter to walk around the west side of the stadium than go all the way around the east, but last year I remember that being all blocked off.

The west walkway will remain closed so you may want to park in the west end of B1 and take the sidewalk along Beach and enter the Reiman Gardens access road. You could also walk through the lots and just cut up to Beach versus walking all the way around.

These are from the road in between the Hilton and Scheman lots. All taken from pretty much the same spot, I just moved a little closer.

The last photo is not badly framed. I wanted to show that they put some oily substance on the entry gravel to keep the dust down.

Curious what other RVers feel. I think it'd be cool to establish a pseudo caricature for each RV. Kind of like an avatar and then provide a map of those avatars. I can only imagine some day down the road wanting to hook up with some of you someday by your pseudo caricature on this map. On the bridge stroll I thought JP said it was the only one like it in the nation. If so, I can see marketing it to further promote Iowa State's already incredible fandom.

ISU requests Board approval to enter into a lease with the Ames Racquet and Fitness Center (ARFC) for the construction, operation, and maintenance of an expanded ARFC tennis facility to support the ISU tennis program. ARFC intends to construct six new outdoor courts, expand the number of existing indoor courts from four to six. Additionally, ARFC would build locker room and lounge space, restrooms, office, spectator seating, storage and additional outdoor parking.

The lease is expected to have a 20-year term and would include recovery of the construction costs to be incurred by AFRC, estimated to be approximately $4,000,000. ISU Athletics will provide input during the project design. As ISU Athletics and ARFC will share the use of the facility, ISU will also pay a portion of the operating costs.

Term: 20 years

If tennis moves out to ARFC 100%, then the building by the BB facility becomes empty and I could see it being renovated for VB.

Wasn't that tennis facility just built? Within the past 5 years at least no? Seems very un-Pollard to build something like that then remodel it so soon. Albeit going from tennis to volleyball isn't a huge change.
