JTS Improvements - Want More

One other thing that would enhance the fan experience immensely would be to improve internet access in the lots around the stadium and in the stadium itself. I'm not sure how expensive that would be, but it would be so appreciated by the fans.

Think of what you consider to be an outrageous number........and then triple it.

The bid at UNI was 8 figures and you'd need 5 times the capacity in Ames.

Whatever you want to call it, it looks horrible and disproportionately small.

JFC, it's fine for the job it does, I'm afraid ISU athletics could be headed to some challenging times, better to have a few dollars banked than to be over extended especially on something that is used a half a dozen times a yr. Athletes before press Ho's.

Is the only reason “it looks horrible” is because folks think it should be larger? Ninety-nine percent of football stadiums don’t have the majority of their suites on the concourse level like ISU does. Those stadiums need skyboxes that stretch end zone to end zone. When ISU has the increased demand, I expect that concourse suites on the east side will be added and we’ll still have the current sky tower.

I barely notice the press box when I look at the stadium. Other stadiums do have impressive press boxes, but it just doesn't stand out to me either way. Now, the awful video board....that I notice.

Keith Murphy posted about the Jack Trice Stripes saying it was "sharp" and "smart" and opened up an opportunity for conversation about the history. Whomever runs the Hawkeye Nation FB page really showed their class. View attachment 87970.
ironic...the program that's had racism in their program vs the program leading the way for black athletes and all athletes

I think as soon as we see a good MBB team, it will trigger a reseating of Hilton and the Hilton renovations.

It could, but it also depends on what conference we are in and difference of income. It’s pretty unknown what the future upgrades will be unless they are coming from donations. I don’t think you understand how much less money we’d be bringing in of the Big12 expands without OU and Texas. It’s hard to say how much we’d bring in even going to the PAC. A lot of unknowns right now.

Where are you putting the displaced club seats? The discussion earlier this year concluded that we have wait lists for club seating and may have them for suits.

Everyone at this point gets the whole there are premium seats between the two levels that other stadiums don’t have. that doesn’t change the fact that the current tower looks horribly out of proportion and ugly.

Nothing is getting done for the next few years with the uncertainty but it still needs done eventually. I had been on board for doing something to finish the NEZ first and shift cheaper seats from the sides to the end but it’s actually turned out pretty nice and the talk was that they could do a third deck.

At the end of the day we need to be in a stable and financially sound conference.
