EDIT: Oh ****, that worked better than planned

I'll be ****** if we miss the giant Sikorsky helicopter lift that crane outta there.
Sikorsky used to have an airshow for employees and their families back in the 60's Seeing the skycrane at work up close was so cool. Like watching a giant dragonfly buzzing the crowd.

I'm surprised by how few gold bleachers there will be in the SEZ. It seems like there are only going to be 2 sections of gold and ~16 with red.

I figured the whole endzone area would be gold now. I'm surprised that the crew has to cut the bleachers. I assumed they were made and numbered per each row and section to fit.

Just saw this event in of those alumni emails from ISU:

  • June 11: Bringing You ISU: Jack Trice Stadium Renovations, 5:15 p.m., West Des Moines Hy-Vee
Join us for this unique new series that brings ISU to YOU in Des Moines. Ben Bruns (A)(’01 construction engr), senior business development director for The Weitz Company, will speak about the Jack Trice Stadium South Endzone expansion. Admission is free.
    Register online.

I'm in. Wish it were being held at the Jack Trice Club so we could actually walk around inside the stadium. Of course, I guess it just makes sense to have a ISU to YOU event somewhere other than campus. I'm really excited about this event.

Sorry to be anticlimactic, but might it be possible to drive the crane around the stadium, come up a sideline sidewalk, and put the final pieces in place with the crane being on the field side of the concrete wall? Personally, I prefer the helicopter idea.

How do I get the scraps? I want to make some bar stools with them for my ISU bar....

The crane made its exit between 1111 and 1116 am. Perhaps smaller units will finish the job, or do what you suggest.

My random dumb question the day is why are there extra sections of bleachers sitting in the upper SE stands? Been there for weeks.
