JTS construction webcam?

One thing I've learned being in various athletic venues over time is that things change, and change often. I didn't say the SEZ club was going to fail (I actually really like the premium seating option it creates at JTS) but that isn't saying that 30 years from now, Jack Trice will look exactly the same either, or that the current club amenities won't need a major overhaul. All I was getting at was that the material could have been chosen to ensure the stadium is flexible if trends in stadiums, fan support, etc., change over time. Jamie knows this too, and I wouldn't be surprised if he made a decision about materials based upon future venue options & scenarios that may occur down the road.

They claimed one of the reasons was for sound. I am sure flexibility might have been a factor also. Also a possibility that it could include the lower corners adjacent to the present End Zone Club for expansion of the Club if it proves popular.

Yeah, this is why I wish they had a public facilities plan update like K-State. Facilities and infrastructure gurus like myself always like to see what the dream or next 5 steps are for a project.

I wonder if the lower seating in the South Endzone was done in aluminum instead of concrete in the event that the Endzone Club is not successful (or a new club section is built as part of a future expansion phase elsewhere) and would be modified to become regular seating. If the club doesn't remain there 10,20 or 30 years from now, that building in the endzone could become athletic offices, locker rooms, audio/visual space, etc. Makes sense to have flexibility with a project of this size and cost.

Lots of fail here.

I was just up in Ames this evening. Took a little detour past the stadium...The 'Entrance to the University' they were going for is there and then some.

Also, they started dropping some panels for a wall that drops down from the outer concourse that runs outside of the end zone club to the ground. It really makes the stadium appear much larger vertically in addition to the size increase from the upper deck.

One thing that I think always hurts JTS from looking impressive in the past is the fact that half the stadium structure isn't visible from the outside because of the design. The new SEZ exterior really mitigates that impact to a significant extant. It still doesn't give a full justice that it would from standing outside a stadium that the exterior ground is field level, but it now has a bit of an awe factor it has never had.

Also was up at the stadium last night and walked by a bit of the south end. When you get right up on it its crazy how much it changes things.

Today, the first of the finished aluminum is being installed in SW corner of the lower bowl. Also, the steps are going in on the SW upper bowl.

Is there a wall between the old and new in the lower level? I know they removed this in the upper but looks like it's still there in the lower bowl?

Since the lower bowl is aluminum, I could see keeping the wall.
