The silence and refusal to comment on the future of the BBall program better mean curtains for GMac. If not, JP should be ashamed of this display. It will effect recruiting, ticket sales and it is putting the program in a box. If JP thinks he is still the guy, say so, support him, make excuses, I don't really care... Silence in this case better be deadly or it is really a bad thing for the program in general (as if it could get any worse)

Does he bring him back with some kind of ultimatum?

Does he bring him back on a renegotiated deal… (horrible thing for lots of reasons imo)

Both of these hurt Gmac further…

If Gmac comes back as if this season never happened is he just one year closer to the end of his tenure.... don't think this won't be used against gmac in recruiting.

If Pollard is bringing him back he should say so, you cannot convince me that the next few games will have any bearing on this decision. If that is the case he is doing a poor job evaluating the program to this point.

The only take that makes sense is Pollard is preparing to fire him.. If not, he isn't doing him any favors.

Pollard has no obligation to make a comment until after the season is done, and at that point he really doesn't have to. He has McD until 2015 at this point. He doesn't owe anyone anything, except for making smart decisions for ISU and his job. I wish everyone would take a breath and stop getting so upset. McD is a great person and ambassaor for our University, he isn't winning, but still doesn't deserve most of the things people are posting about.

I wouldn't be surprised if he knows his decision (Pollard) but just can't say anything yet. What if we go on a run and win the Big 12? Not gonna happen, but what if it does? How can he fire him after winning a conference title? Anything less than that, at this point, and I think it's a done deal...he's gone. I think his silence is deafening.

WHAT IS HE SUPPOSE TO SAY? We suck but its not all the coaches fault or we suck and it is the coaches fault. All he is going to say is we will look at the situation at the end of the season.

I would think that if he feels he is the guy he wouldsay so.... Right now I think he is counting heads in the seats and will see how much cardinal and gold is in KC...

And then doing some mental math on the drive down....

15 home games x 15-20 bucks is 225-300 bucks x 5000 tickets short is about 135,000 a year. Till 2015 is a little over 500,000 damn still not there.....

Then maybe some thinking about what happens if we start over

Geez a new guy will have to probably have defections, have to bring in a bunch of JC guys ---- oh wait ----

Is Pollard even gonna address this?

Isn't it his job to come out at some point and give a state of the athletics speech. I just wanna hear him talk. Even if he has a bs answer that he thinks Gmac can get it done. Something is better than this. Also, is he even attending BB games now?

Re: Is Pollard even gonna address this?

All he would say is we are going to look at where the BB program is at the end of the season. I will not say anything until the end of the season. He is not going to stand up for the guy then fire him 2 weeks later. He is not going to stand up there and rip on him. He is not going to say this is our coach in the future until he sees how the rest of the season goes.

Since I'm sure you're kidding I won't single you out. But, people clamoring for the all powerful JP to step from behind the curtain and issue some statement to assuage all Cyclone nation's fears and insecurities it just plain silly.

When Pollard is silent, it means he is mulling over options.

I don't think even Pollard knows what he is going to do yet.

I just don't see JP listening to this kind of crap.

IMO he's probably polling the big donors to see if there is money for a buy out. ISU isn't going to be able to afford the buyout without some help.

Maybe it is all about bucks in the end. Five more years of exciting gamne finishes here we come.
