I wont link it but if you happen over to hawkeye nation, youll see the thread. Now I have learned to take what he says with a grain of salt because he has been proven wrong time and time before. He spends most of his time grasping at straws to try to pull some eyeballs on to his dying site. But it's worth checking out for a good laugh. How can you even talk smack when you are involved in a dumpster fire of a business and know it?

If ad dollars are piling up so fast for the hawks....how do you explain what you got going on over there?

Have fun with your 18 posters.

I wonder if the Iowa staff have plastered ISU posters around their FB complex (like 2012) plus old news clippings of ISU's past victories over Iowa--to motivate Iowa's superbowl preparations?

So basically Jon just made up some excuses in case Iowa loses on Saturday. What a tool.

Do these guys think that since they think ISU cares about the game more then it must be true? This bizarre feeling towards ISU is fascinating to me. Former players saying "well we lost because they cared more". Ummm so that means you are just a loser then right? And you freely admit it? Very strange strange reasoning from the Hawks.

Also, what makes this even more bizarre is that this never came up until ISU started to routinely beat Iowa. So using that logic, before beating Iowa for 18 yrs or whatever, that meant that ISU didnt care? The 2nd they started caring they started winning? Someone needs to tell CPR to care about all games because its just that easy apparently.

Hayden Fry put a lot of emphasis on this game also. He knew by beating the snot out of ISU, he would get to hand pick the talent from the state (Chuck Long's words not mine)
DMac knew the first step in turning the ISU program around was starting to beat Iowa.
The Super Bowl theory was relevant 15 Years ago for us and 30 for them. Now its just a built in excuse for when they lose. They're Pathetic.

Holy delusional hawk.

I also love his whole line of reasoning that "sacks" are a dying statistic in football, so don't worry that the Hawkeye defense hasn't gotten any this year. That one just killed me.

My lord little brother is getting fussy. I think hok fans just don't realize that ISU is the new top dog in this state athletically and academically. Enjoy your reign hoks while it lasted, Iowa is our state now.

Once upon a time, when ISU was atrocious at football and Ole' Raisin Face roamed the prairies, I would probably have to say there was some truth to the Superbowl thing.

You knew ISU was terrible. You knew they were going to get curbstomped by Osborne's Nebraska and OU. You knew there was no hope of a winning season. \

So if they could pull of this one big win, at least you had SOMETHING to hang your hat on with your friends and coworkers and family, despite the rest of the disaster. Beating Iowa was like finding an unopened and unscathed bottle of Templeton 10 feet away from a dumpster fire.

But over the past 10-15 years, as ISU has become decent, I don't think the superbowl thing applies anymore. Yes they want to win, but so does every team for every game. Iowa wants to win too. It probably means more to the fans, since there's so much workplace and family connections and rivalries. At this point I am just tired of hearing about it, its just an old recycled story. Tell me about this years players and matchups. Superbowl is just lazy.

Every time I think about taking it easy on Hawkeye fans after a disappointing loss, I think of Jon's (Southern Illinois grad) disposition towards Iowa State and my sympathy fades away. He IS the typical Hawkeye fan.

He is old enough to still carry that Fry swagger even though those days are long gone.

Wow. I bet hawk fans are just beating their dicks to this magical piece of writing. That was truly atrocious to read and I only made it a couple of paragraphs.
